New Japan Pro Wrestling announced via NJPW.co.jp that Shinsuke Nakamura has been stripped of the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. Nakamura is still scheduled to finish his run with the company on January 30 on the Korakuen Hall show. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Darius Malcisky]
Powell’s POV: It’s surprising that the company didn’t simply have him lose the championship on his way out. As previously noted, Nakamura is expected to be WWE bound once his run with NJPW ends.
