Ring of Honor announced that Matt Taven underwent successful knee surgery in Boston on Tuesday. Taven suffered a torn ACL, a ruptured lateral meniscus, and a torn medial meniscus during his match at the Final Battle 2015 pay-per-view last month. ROH listed a minimum of a nine-month recovery period for Taven. Read more on the story at ROHWrestling.com.

Powell’s POV: Taven is also quoted in the story, which also notes that the procedure took four-and-a-half hours to complete. It was originally expected to require two separate surgeries, but they were able to get by with one surgery. It’s a tough break for Taven, who was doing a really nice job in the tag team with Mike Bennett, who has left ROH for TNA. Here’s wishing Taven the best with his recovery from this major surgery.
