The following are among the highlights of the Paul “Triple H” Levesque conference call. Listen to the full call here.
-Levesque said he views Tyler Breeze as an NXT roster member.
-When it comes to the Viking Raiders vacating the NXT Tag Titles rather than losing them in the ring, Levesque spoke about how fans would have a good idea as to what the finish would be if they dropped the titles in a match. He added that no one will complain about seeing a ladder match, which they are having at Saturday’s NXT Takeover: XXV event to determine the new champions.
-When it came to the jabs he took at AEW at the WWE Hall of Fame, Levesque said he felt like he was addressing the elephant in the room with Billy Gunn being in the ring with him as part of the DX induction. He said a lot of it was not laid out and planned. Levesque said he wants to put on the best product possible and isn’t thinking about anyone else’s creative or what they said.
-The door is open for the WWE 24/7 and WWE Women’s Tag Titles to be defended in NXT.
-Levesque did not commit to a timeframe for the next NXT UK Takeover special. He said they are trying to finalize some things. He said that something caused them to push it down the line, but he hopes to have an announcement soon.
Powell’s POV: It was an interesting and informative conference call, as always, so it’s worth checking out today’s free podcast. Join me for live coverage of NXT Takeover: XXV as the show streams live on Saturday night on WWE Network.
