GCW “The Last Frontier – The Sequel”
October 3, 2026, in Anchorage, Alaska, at Arctic Rec Center
Streamed live on TrillerTV+

* Joseph Sawyer is apparently injured. He missed the Revolver show in Ohio on Friday, and skipped this as well. Promoter Brett Lauderdale didn’t hide his dismay when he announced on Twitter/X that Sawyer wasn’t going to attend, even to make an appearance. (Not a good way to start a title reign.)

* This is a large gym, and a curtain was dropped to cut the space in half. The crowd was perhaps 300. The lights were on, and it was easy to see. John Moseley and Emil Jay provided commentary. (I’ll note that GCW has been here before, as has another East Coast promotion. (I think it was WrestlePro?) Anyhow, there are some wrestlers I’ve certainly seen just once or twice who are based in this area.

1. “Top-Tier Talent” Auron West and K-Jax vs. Alec Price and Marcus Mathers. Since Jordan Oliver competed in Europe this week, Mathers teamed with Price. Both locals are a bit chubby. K-Jax is Black; West is white with long, black hair. We have referee Scarlett Donovan, so she made the trek, too. Price and West opened, and they tied up on the mat. Alec escaped and hit a loud chop. Price hit a twisting suplex and an elbow drop at 2:00. Mathers entered and hit a mule kick to West’s chest. Mathers hit a picture-perfect dropkick.

K-Jax hit a one-handed spinebuster on Mathers at 3:30 and stomped on him. Emil noted that West competed on last year’s show, but K-Jax did not. All four brawled. Mathers and Price hit some stereo kicks on K-Jax. Price hit a dive through the ropes at 5:00. He tried a crossbody block, but K-Jax caught him. K-Jax hit a Samoan Drop-and-fallaway slam combo! The locals worked over Price in their corner. West hit a bodyslam at 7:00 and was booed. K-Jax blocked Price from tagging out.

Marcus finally got the hot tag and hit some back elbows and a bodyslam. Mathers hit some splashes in opposite corners, then his corner fadeaway stunner on West, then a Blue Thunder Bomb for a believable nearfall at 9:00. K-Jax put Mathers in a Torture Rack and dropped him snake-eyes in the corner. West went for a cover, but Price made the save. Mathers hit some blows on each opponent. Price hit a top-rope Emergency flying leg drop on K-Jax, then a clothesline.

West hit a discus clothesline on Mathers and a neckbreaker over his knee on Price at 12:00. K-Pax slammed Mathers face-first for a nearfall. Mathers hit his heel hook to K-Jax’s jaw. Price hit a dive to the floor. In the ring, he hit a crossbody block. Mathers hit a corner fadeaway stunner on West. Price hit a frog splash to pin West. Really fun match; that will be tough to top!

Alec Price and Marcus Mathers defeated “Top-Tier Talent” Auron West and K-Jax at 13:45.

* Price got on the mic and thanked the fans and the local “907 Wrestling” promotion.

* Footage aired of Joseph Sawyer getting injured last week at a GCW show. As I noted in my review, it appeared he pulled a hamstring. Brett Lauderdale got on the mic and said, “This is not an angle,” and he’s working on getting the GCW Title back here.

2. Don Freeze vs. Brandon Steele vs. Jeffrey John in a three-way. Steele is white with brown hair and a beard, and he looks like a car mechanic. Steele jawed at the bell, so John punched him in the jaw. John and Freeze both performed cartwheels and had a standoff at 1:30. Steele and John traded chops. Steele removed John’s babushka, but of course, John had another one on underneath. Steele hit a stunner at 4:00. Freeze hit a powerslam, but he missed a running Shooting Star Press. Steele hit a Jarrett-style stroke for a nearfall.

John hit a suplex out of the corner, then a brainbuster for a nearfall at 5:30, but Freeze hit a moonsault to break it up. They all got up and traded blows. Freeze hit an enzuigiri on John! He hit a moonsault press on John! John hit a top-rope flying double stunner on both opponents. He hit a plancha to the floor on Steele at 7:30. Freeze dove to the floor onto both guys. John hit a top-rope stunner on Steele on the apron. In the ring, John peeled off a second babushka. He nailed a Low Ki-style rolling Koppo Kick and pinned Steele. Fun match. The crowds have really warmed up to Jeffrey in recent months.

Jeffrey John defeated Don Freeze and Brandon Steele in a three-way at 8:38.

* John got on the mic and spoke about being here last year. He noted he’s been all over the world with GCW. He noted he finally got a title shot last weekend in Ohio. Unfortunately, “certain attitudes were made, and the opportunity slipped from my hands,” he said. (He’s certainly implying that Sawyer’s injury is not legit.) He said that GCW is “either you have that dog in you or you don’t.” He said he doesn’t know what’s going on with Sawyer, but last week, he proved he belongs at the top of the GCW roster.

* Ref Max Recon and ref Adam Gault spoke outside. Max has been reinstated, even though he turned heel. (I cannot state how little I care about this angle.) Gault is the senior ref, and he warned Recon he better do his job.

3. Anakin Murphy vs. Parrow. Scrawny emo kid Murphy is popular everywhere. Moseley said this is state No. 27 or 28 for Murphy. I am almost positive these two fought in the “Clusterf—-” Rumble over WrestleMania weekend, as Parrow beat up all the “twinks” in the match. Murphy attacked as Parrow stepped through the ropes, and they immediately fought to the floor. Parrow threw Murphy into the chairs, and they got back into the ring. Murphy hit a dropkick onto the chair in Parrow’s hands. Parrow threw the chair at Murphy’s head at 2:30. Gross and completely unnecessary.

Parrow hit a clubbing clothesline and was booed. He slammed Murphy onto a folded chair at 4:00. Parrow set up for a chokeslam, but Murphy dropped him across two open chairs. Murphy hit a Sliced Bread out of the corner for a believable nearfall at 5:30. Murphy hit an enzuigiri. Parrow hit a sit-out powerbomb for a nearfall. Parrow charged, but Murphy pushed the ref out of the way, and Parrow crashed through a door in the corner! Murphy hit a top-rope Coffin Drop onto door shards over Parrow’s chest and got the pin. Decent match.

Anakin Murphy defeated Parrow at 7:50.

4. Jimmy Lloyd vs. Bryson Axl vs. Ben Dossman in a three-way. Bryson recently had his head shaved bald, and he has a beard; the commentators said they hadn’t seen him before. Ben had a big chain around his neck, and he jawed at the fans as he approached the ring. Lauderdale said it’s his first time seeing Dossman live. The two babyfaces flipped Dossman to the mat, and we’re underway! Jimmy and Bryson locked up. Bryson hit a T-Bone Suplex. Dossman hit a German Suplex on Bryson, then some chops in the corner.

Lloyd got underneath them and hit a Tower of Doom at 2:30. He dove through the ropes onto Axl. Dossman leapt onto Lloyd on the floor. They all got back into the ring, and Axl hit an elbow drop. He hit a belly-to-belly suplex on Dossman for a nearfall at 4:30, but Lloyd made the save. Bryson and Jimmy traded forearm strikes. Jimmy went under the ring and got some chairs and threw them into the ring. Jimmy hit an Angle Slam onto Bryson onto an open chair for a nearfall, but Dossman hit some chairshots on Lloyd to break it up. Jimmy got a staple gun and used it on Dossman. He then hit a Michinoku Driver across four open chairs for the pin.

Jimmy Lloyd defeated Bryson Axl and Ben Dossman in a three-way at 7:35.

5. Nova Kai vs. Joey Janela. Nova wore a karate robe, and he carried a sword to the ring. Joey offered a handshake, but Nova bowed to him. Joey attacked, and we’re underway! Moseley noted that Nova Kai won a scramble at last year’s show. Kai hit a monkey-flip, then a clothesline for a nearfall at 2:00. Joey rolled to the floor to regroup. He whipped Kai into rows of chairs. They got back into the ring, and Kai hit some forearm strikes. Joey crashed shoulder-first into the ring post at 5:30.

Kai hit a handspring-back-elbow. He hit a DDT for a nearfall, then a suplex at 7:30. Janela hit a brainbuster for a nearfall. Kai hit a Dragon Suplex, so Janela hit a Dragon Suplex. Janela hit a superkick. Kai hit a Sling Blade at 10:00. Joey hit a DVD onto the apron, and Kai collapsed to the floor. In the ring, Kai applied a Fujiwara Armbar at 12:00, and the crowd taunted Janela to tap out. Kai switched to a Rings of Saturn! Joey finally got a foot on the ropes. Joey hit a DVD across an open chair for a nearfall. Joey got a chair, swung and missed. Kai immediately hit a handspring-back-elbow.

Kai hit a Michinoku Driver across an open chair at 14:00! Ouch! Joey hit a low-blow punt kick when the ref was out of position, then a piledriver onto the open chair, then a Package Piledriver for a believable nearfall! The crowd went nuts for the kickout, and Joey was in disbelief that he didn’t win there. We got a loud, “This is awesome!” chant. Kai flipped Joey shoulder-first onto a pile of busted chairs. He climbed the top rope, but Joey threw a chair at him. Joey hit a top-rope double stomp onto a chair over Kai’s chest for the pin. That was really good.

Joey Janela defeated Nova Kai at 16:48.

6. 1 Called Manders vs. Nick Gage. Manders just returned from wXw in Germany. Moseley said it’s been a few years since these two had a singles match. Manders knocked him down with a shoulder tackle, and he faked a chop, but it ticked Gage off, who hit some chops. He hit a baseball slide dropkick to the floor at 1:00, then he whipped Manders into the rows of chairs. Gage whipped him into the ring post. In the ring, they took turns hitting each other over the head with a garbage can lid, and Manders bodyslammed him onto the lid at 3:30.

Manders hit more blows with the garbage can lid. Gage hit a drop-toe-hold onto a folded chair, then a spinebuster at 6:00. He hit a running kick onto a chair over Manders’ head in the corner. Gage went under the ring and grabbed two light tubes! “Children are scurrying away,” Emil said. He also found a door. Manders attacked him on the floor. In the ring, Gage hit him over the head with a light tube and speared him onto a door in the corner — it didn’t break — and he got a nearfall at 8:00. Manders hit a clothesline as Gage was holding the other light tube and scored the pin!

1 Called Manders defeated Nick Gage at 8:24.

* Manders got on the mic and talked about the history between them, going back to when Manders was helping set up the ring. He said that Gage is the reason why GCW is a ‘thing’ today. Gage got on the mic and thanked the fans.

7. Vipress vs. Atticus Cogar (w/Max Recon). I’m burned out on death matches, so I’m zipping forward to 15:00. He was jabbing her with cooking skewers. He hit a Brain Hemorrhage (snapmare driver) onto a garbage can lid for the pin.

Atticus Cogar defeated Vipress at 15:29.

* Cogar got on the mic and said he had a “little message for Joseph Sawyer” and the crowd booed his name. He said that Joseph made a “f—in’ idiot” of himself. He’s angry because Sawyer won’t be back to defend that belt for more than a month. He called him a “bitch” and a “p*$$y” and said he’s scared to come into the GCW locker room. He invited Sawyer to come to any of the upcoming GCW shows and defend his belt. He ended by calling him “a paper-champ p*$$y.” He made clear he’s not changed and isn’t a “Good guy” now, either.

Final Thoughts: A fun show. Janela’s match was best, ahead of the Price/Mathers tag match. I really was hoping Kai would win, just so ONE of the locals could claim a victory, but that didn’t happen.

Again, as I watched last week, it was clear to me that Sawyer pulled his hamstring and tried to fight through it, but ultimately had to quit mid-match. My assumption is they’ve turned this into an angle to turn Sawyer heel and Atticus babyface, as the fans weren’t really cheering for Sawyer anyways.
