NXT TV rating (9/29): Did Grayson Waller’s open challenge for the NXT Championship boost the numbers?

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

The Tuesday, September 29 NXT television show averaged 671,000 viewers on The CW, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.com. The viewership count was up from prior week’s average of 628,000. NXT finished with a 0.11 rating in the 18-49 demo, up from the previous episode’s 0.09 rating.

Powell’s POV: The ESPN Unlimited streaming numbers are not included in the rating or viewership count for NXT programming. Mason Rook was originally scheduled to challenge Waller, but he was pulled from the show for medical reasons. On the day of the show, NXT announced the Rook news, along with the story that Waller would hold an open challenge for anyone on the NXT roster. One year earlier, the September 30, 2025, NXT on The CW averaged 572,000 viewers and a 0.10 rating.
