Soon thereafter, the league confirmed the \u201cclassic\u201d would be an annual tournament hosted exclusively by MLW.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the legends whose names are immortalized in plaques on the sides of the cup, including: George Hackenschmidt, Stu Hart, Leo Pardello, William Muldoon and Waldek Zbyszko, \u201cthe classic\u201d has returned to reignite the spirit of the greats who preceded today and tomorrow\u2019s greats.<\/p>\n<p>Over the summer of 2019, Major League Wrestling entrusted the same craftsmen who have worked with the NHL on maintaining the Stanley Cup to complete the restoration process of the original cup in time for the return of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The Professional Wrestling Opera Cup is dedicated to the great men who have fought valiantly before us to ensure our passion, professional wrestling be cemented and respected in the annals of time.<\/p>\n<p>In order for the Opera Cup to take place, CONTRA Unit\u2019s tight grip on key aspects of MLW\u2019s operations would have to be addressed. A situation MLW is well aware of and remains optimistic it will resolve.<\/p><div id=\"prowr-2544120485\" class=\"prowr-content-4 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_2 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_2\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Powell&#8217;s POV:<\/strong><\/span> MLW indicated that it will tape television this month and it will begin airing in November.
