The Wrestling at the Chase announcer was reportedly placed in hospice care over the weekend while battling pneumonia. The news of Matysik&#8217;s death was announced by his friend Herb Simmons via his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/herb.simmons.5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook Page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Powell&#8217;s POV:<\/strong><\/span> Matysik wrote several books on pro wrestling. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Waterloo, Iowa as a Jim Melby Award winner in 2014. Matysik and Simmons opened the St. Louis Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2007.
