Joe Dombrowski and Tom Lawlor provided commentary. Austin Aries joined them for the main event. I’ll reiterate that the production quality of MLW has never been better than the tapings throughout 2026.

1. Diego Hill vs. LaBron Kozone in an Opera Cup quarterfinal match. These two are both from North Carolina and have undoubtedly fought each other before. They tied up, and Kozone has the size advantage. Hill hit some armdrags. Kozone hit some chops and a senton for a nearfall at 2:30. Kozone hit a suplex. Hill hit a spin kick to the face, and they were both down. Diego hit a springboard DDT, and they were both down at 4:30.

Diego Hill nailed a flip dive to the floor and landed on his feet. He nailed an AJ Styles-like springboard flying forearm in the ring, then a forward Finlay Roll. Kozone put Diego across his shoulders and nailed a Burning Hammer. Hill hit a superkick, then a handspring-back-spin kick. However, Kozone nailed the Ballgame clothesline out of nowhere for the pin. As sharp as a match of this length can be! They shook hands afterwards.

LaBron Kozone defeated Diego Hill at 6:51 to advance to the Opera Cup semifinals.

* Dombrowski narrated a segment to introduce Yota Tsuji. We then heard from Trevor Lee, who issued the challenge to Tsuji. (That should be a great match, but there isn’t much mystery over who will win that.)

* Rich Bochinni interviewed Zamaya on the stage. Shotzi Blackheart interrupted them. Shotzi said, “They are on the same side.” Zamaya clarified that she didn’t “save” Shotzi; she “chose” her.

* More footage of Yota Tsuji aired. We then saw Rich Bocchini interview Austin Aries, who again said that everyone else in the Opera Cup is still just the runner-up to him. Matt Riddle confronted Aries. They agreed to a match at “SuperFight” in Chicago on Nov. 7!

2. Wolfgang (w/Mark Coffey) vs. Beastman (w/Kimchee). Wolfgang hit some chops at the bell. However, Beastman grabbed the arm and bit the forearm! Beastman splashed Wolfgang and climbed on his back for the cover. (A very Kamala-type segment, as Kimchee had to explain to Beastman to roll Wolfgang over onto his back and cover his chest.) Wolfgang hit a flying forearm, and he applied a rear chinlock at 3:00.

Wolfgang hit a clothesline and some more chops. Beastman hit a splash, and he set up for a Bonzai Buttdrop. Wolfgang tried to escape, but Beastman hit the butt drop to the chest! Somehow, Wolfgang flipped Kimchee into the ring, which distracted the referee. Mark Coffey put a bear trap on Beastman’s wrist! Ouch! Wolfgang hit a spear for the pin. Decent.

Wolfgang defeated Beastman at 5:22.

* Masha and Josef Samael approached Zamaya backstage. Josef challenged Zamaya to face Masha at SuperFight!

* Dombrowski announced that Mistico will also be at SuperFight!

* Footage aired of the Glasgow Boys On Top beating up and hospitalizing teenager CJ Gallows.

* Footage aired of Josh Bishop and Killer Kross brawling in the parking lot last week, and the fight spilled onto the streets of Philadelphia! We then heard from Killer Kross, who granted Bishop a title shot.

* A video package of Tessa Blanchard aired. The footage was nearly all of her in Mexico. (Obviously, nothing of her from TNA!) She is taking on Keyra at SuperFight.

* Donovan Dijak and Joshua Bishop argued in a bathroom. Dijak again said, “I’m the captain, and I call the shots.”

* Austin Aries came to ringside to join Dombrowski and Lawlor on commentary.

3. Matt Riddle vs. Ikuro Kwon in an Opera Cup quarterfinal match. They tied up, and Riddle hit a gutwrench suplex. Riddle tied him in a cross-armbreaker in the ropes at 1:00, but he let go before being disqualified. He went for a move off the ropes, but Kwon caught him with a dropkick. Kwon hit some Yes Kicks, and he jawed at Riddle, but the kicks just fired Matt up! Kwon hit a swinging Flatliner [C].

Back from the break, Riddle hit a suplex, and they were both down at 3:00. Riddle hit an Exploder Suplex, a senton, and a running Penalty Kick. Matt hit a German Suplex for a nearfall. Kwon ducked a spin kick. However, Matt nailed a spinning back fist for the pin! Shockingly short.

Matt Riddle defeated Ikuro Kwon at 4:22 to advance to the Opera Cup semifinals.

Final Thoughts: Diego-Kozone was predictably good and the best of the three matches. Riddle-Kwon was fine for what it was, but I have to wonder why they took a break in the middle of a match that went so short. Did they edit anything out? I somewhat doubt it — the last few MLW episodes have actually gone longer than normal, as they’ve stuffed the episodes with segments promoting SuperFight in Chicago, so it’s not like they needed to edit a match to make it shorter.

The good news is that the lineup for SuperFight looks strong. I think very highly of Trevor Lee and he’s had a couple of really good matches with Austin Aries here… but it’s hard to not be disappointed that Yota Tsuji isn’t facing someone higher up on the MLW roster. If it were me booking the show, I would have dropped the plans for Aries-Riddle to book Aries-Tsuji. But then you have the challenge of figuring out the finish to leave both men looking strong.

<div id="prowr-110776711" class="prowr-after-content prowr-entity-placement" role="region"
