Mike Rome was the ring announcer&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Vanity Project made their entrance to their new entrance theme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. NXT Tag Team Champions &#8220;The Vanity Project&#8221; Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes (w\/Jackson Drake, Myka Lockwood) vs. Mini Vikingo and Chaz &#8220;Starboy&#8221; Hall in a Quarterfinal Match of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.<\/strong> Hall and Baylor started the match with rapid pin attempts. Hall landed a huracanrana on Baylor. Vanity Project regained control when Smokes tagged in with a forearm. This allowed Vanity Project to cut the ring in half on Hall. Hall managed to bring in Mini Vikingo who came in with a slingshot corkscrew crossbody on Smokes.<\/p>\n<p>Mini hit Smokes with a huracanrana. Mini kicked off Hall and hit Smokes with a Standing Shooting Star. Hall and Mini Vikingo did Superhero flip poses. Mini and Myka had a staredown, which allowed Baylor to wipe him out with a clothesline. Smokes tripped up Hall on the apron with a clothesline heading into break.[c]<\/p>\n<p>Back from break, the Vanity Project were cutting the ring in half on Mini Vikingo. Mini managed to hit Baylor with a Standing Spanish Fly for a window of opportunity. Hall caught the Hot tag and cleaned house with strikes. Hall showed off good agility and hit both opponents with the Eddy Gordo Backflip Kick. Hall hit Smokes with a Standing Red Arrow for a nearfall. Hall hit both opponents with a Fosbury Flop at ringside.<\/p>\n<p>Mini Vikingo hit Smokes with a Tightrope Springboard 450 for a good nearfall. Booker said if Mini Vikingo had more weight on him, that would have been a win. Baylor caught Hall out of the air and hit him wiht a side slam. Mini Vikingo broke up the pin and hit Smokes with a Poisonrana right after. Hall did a sweet looking suplex reversal into a huracanrana. Hall hit Baylor with a suplex. Vikingo hit Balor with an impressive reverse Phoenix Splash for a nearfall.<\/p><div id=\"prowr-2770264143\" class=\"prowr-content-4 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_2 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_2\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Mini used a huracanrana to send Baylor into Smokes. Mini hit Jackson Drake with a corkscrew Plancha. Smokes got the knees up to block a dive from hall. Vanity Project hit Hall with their Scorpion Death Drop Double Stomp combo for the victory.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Vanity Project defeated Chazz Hall and Mini Vikingo via pinfall in 12:55 to advance to the Semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>John&#8217;s Thoughts:<\/strong><\/span> A fun match with the former Starboy Charlie and Hijo de Vikingo&#8217;s brother doing some very innovative offense that reminded me of some of the old TNA X Division matches from the early 2000&#8217;s. WWE has something there with Mini Vikingo. Not only is he a child version of Vikingo, but they also get a version of Hijo de Vikingo that doesn&#8217;t have all the wear and tear of the grueling matches over the years. What I also liked from this match was them giving Vanity Project a clean win to give them credibility and allow them to pull out more of their signature cheap finishes later without them being stale.<\/p>\n<p>Blake Howard interviewed Saquon Shugars about his upcoming match. Shugars said he should be challenging for titles, but Tristan Angels is biting at his ankles. Shugars called Angels a clown. Shugars said he looks like a champion because he fights champions, while Angels is in the back. NXT Champion Grayson Waller approached Shugars.<\/p>\n<p>Shugars called him &#8220;Poosain Bolt&#8221; for his marathon on a treadmill. Waller said he respects Shugars, but Shugars needs to focus on the person in front of him instead of looking at the title. Waller said that will lead Shugars to success. Shugars told Waller to watch what he does to Tristan Angels. Shugars called Waller a stupid kangaroo and then made his entrance to the ring&#8230;[c]<\/p>\n<p>Vic Joseph hyped up WWE Main Event debuting on Rumble (ugh&#8230; that&#8217;s such a toxic platform)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Kali Armstrong argued with Robert Stone about La Catalina backstage. Stone told Kali that Kali will get a title shot at Catalina&#8217;s Reina de Reina&#8217;s championship later in the show&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Tristan Angels made his entrance&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Saquon Shugars vs. Tristan Angels.<\/strong> Angels tripped up Shugars and did a hip swivel to mock him. Shugars did a sidestep and hip swivel back. Shugars hit Angels with an atomic drop and draping elbow through the ropes. Shugars worked on Angels with methodical offense. Angels tripped Shugars off the ropes. Angels tried to remove the turnbuckle, but Shugars dragged him away and backdropped him.<\/p>\n<p>Shugars hit Angels with a springboard wrecking ball kick. Angels threw a fit and threw chairs in the ring.[c]<\/p><div id=\"prowr-1017703114\" class=\"prowr-content-5 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_3 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_3\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_3\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_3\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Back from break, Angels swatted Shugars out of the air with a big boot. Shugars held on the ropes to block a neckbreaker. Angels came back with a draping Backstabber. Angels hit Shugars with a slingshot elbow drop for a nearfall. Shugars broke up a sleeper by sending Angels into the buckle. Shugars caught Angels with a running knee to the gut. Shugars hit Angels with a Backbreaker into Blade Runner.<\/p>\n<p>Shugars and Angels took each other out to ringside. Angels blocked a suplex by shoving Shugars off. Angels drove Saquon&#8217;s head into the mat with a clinch Knee Drop for the clean win.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tristan Angels defeated Saquon Shugars via pinfall in 11:07.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>John&#8217;s Thoughts:<\/strong><\/span> Wow. Not only am I&#8217;m surprised that we got two clean heel wins in a row; but I&#8217;m even more impressed that WWE gave Tristan Angels, someone who&#8217;s been working comedy angles, a clean win over a wrestler who&#8217;s been working in the main event picture. Again, the key is follow up. I hope they take advantage of this clean win for character development of Angels, where we can see him more seriously and as a future big star. Speaking of character development, where does this lead Shugars? On one hand, they did tease something between him and Waller before the match. On Jason Powell&#8217;s Raw Audio review from last night, I do like the idea of him being called up and added to the 946 faction, as he looks like he&#8217;d be a perfect fit for the group.<\/p>\n<p>A sponsored Tony D&#8217;Angelo promo aired. Tony D talked about Borne trying to get to where Tony D is. Tony D said he got to where he is with results, even beating &#8220;a ruler&#8221; (Oba Femi). Tony D said Myles beat him with five dollars worth of quarters, while Tony D would have beat Myles out with a crowbar. Tony D said he may have traded his suit for a jacket and jeans, but he still decides who walks or swims. Tony D said Myles&#8217;s fate is in his hands tonight and Grayson&#8217;s will be at Halloween Havoc&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Wren Sinclair was shown walking backstage&#8230;[c]<\/p>\n<p>Izzi Dame and Niko Vance were in their dark Culling room talking about Zaria. Izzi talked about Zaria being broken and how that&#8217;s interesting. Izzi said you see a North American Champion, but she sees someone scared. Izzi said she will use her past to make her slip<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>John&#8217;s Thoughts:<\/strong><\/span> Not only do I dislike that The Culling is still a thing, but it&#8217;s also goofy that they are laying out their evil mind game plan on national television.<\/p>\n<p>Wren Sinclair made her entrance and told everyone &#8220;Happy Wrensday&#8221; (But it&#8217;s Tuesday). Wren bragged about being the number one contender. She said she tends to overthink and talked herself out of a lot of things. She said she always put her head down and played it safe. She said last week she did something the old Wren wouldn&#8217;t do, take a risk. She said she was scared as hell. She said she went into last week&#8217;s match as Lady Shani and proved that even though she was scared, she doesn&#8217;t have to back down anymore.<\/p>\n<p>She said she doesn&#8217;t have the biggest name. She said you have to just figure out how important something is and just do it. Wren said she lost her title and watched her best friend get hurt and lose her title. She said she saw how everything can be taken away and how you can&#8217;t just sit here and wait for change. Wren said Kendal Grey always believed in her. She said she needs to step up not just for Kendal, but for her. Wren was about to address the whole suspension thing, but was interrupted by Kelani Jordan, who came out with straightened hair.<\/p>\n<p>Kelani talked about how Wren was bending rules like everyone. Lani said Wren didn&#8217;t earn her opportunity, but manipulated the situation and committed identity theft. Lani said she refuses to face Wren at Halloween Havoc. She said she&#8217;ll face Kali Armstrong, TNA wrestlers, Lady Shani, or anyone else. Lani told Wren to go back to being Kendal&#8217;s sidekick. Lani said Wren didn&#8217;t have the balls to enter that match as herself.<\/p>\n<p>Lani said the worst thing is Wren couldn&#8217;t get people to love her for herself. NXT GM Robert Stone walked out and noted that Wren&#8217;s suspension is suspended. Stone said Wren did break the rules of the suspension, but she did earn a win in the battle royal. Stone said he&#8217;ll let the fans decide. Booker yelled &#8220;Da Hell!&#8221;. The crowd chanted &#8220;Yes&#8221;. Stone said it&#8217;s official, Jordan will defend her title against Wren at Halloween Havoc. Lani tried to hit Wren with the belt, but Wren snatched it away and caused Lani to flinch to the ground. Wren stood tall to end the segment&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>La Catalina vs. Kali Armstrong was hyped for after the break&#8230;[c]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>John&#8217;s Thoughts:<\/strong><\/span> They did have to dance around a bit, but I did like them taking the effort to explain Wren getting a title shot despite breaking multiple rules. Wren was likable as usual, and I can see her losing and feuding with Kendal Grey later on (once Kendal gets out of her goofy therapy dimension). Meanwhile, Kelani Jordan continues to kill it as a heel.<\/p>\n<p>Vic Joseph hyped WWE&#8217;s tryouts in Hawaii&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Lizzy Rain was chatting with Cruz Montana backstage. Montana was cheering Lizzy up for her recent loss. He then picked up the phone to someone. He talked about how people use his story against him and the person on the phone making him the man he is today. Dion Lennox attacked Cruz from behind and said he&#8217;ll redial the phone. He talked to Cruz&#8217;s mom and said he&#8217;s going to beat Cruz&#8217;s ass and send him back to that dark place to the point where Cruz will be needing to call his momma&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>[Hour Two]<\/strong> Entrances for the next match took place&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. La Catalina vs. Kali Armstrong for the AAA Reina de Reina&#8217;s Championship.<\/strong> Kali hit Catalina with a shoulder tackle and mocked her dancing. Catalina came back with an armdrag and danced to mock Kali. Catalina pressed Kali down and got a two count. Catalina hit Kali with a huracanrana and boot. Catalina knocked Kali off the apron with a hip attack. Kali caught Catalina out of the air and hit her with a body slam. Kali pulled away the mat to expose the concrete. Catalina tossed Kali over the steel steps and hit her with a Seated Senton.[c]<\/p>\n<p>Interesting note, during the break, Vic and Booker talked about how Kali being in all these NXT title matches is &#8220;on the job training&#8221;. Back from break, Catalina rolled up Kali for a nearfall. Catalina hit Kali with a Missile Dropkick. Catalina hit Kali with a basement Dropkick and rallied with running strikes. Catalina hit Kali with a hip attack and Gory Slam for a nearfall. Booker kept yelling &#8220;Perro&#8221; for some reason.<\/p>\n<p>Catalina and Kali traded Yay-Boo strikes. Kali hit Catalina with a modified released Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. Catalina rolled up Kali for a nearfall. Catalina hit Kali with a draping hip attack. Kali came back with a swinging Power Slam. Catalina dodged a Kali Connection and dumped Kali on the exposed concrete. La Catalina hit Kali with a Knee Plus for the victory.<\/p>\n<p><em>La Catalina defeated Kali Armstrong via pinfall in 10:32 to retain the AAA Reina de Reina&#8217;s Championship.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>John&#8217;s Thoughts:<\/strong><\/span> A solid match that may have been Kali Armstrong&#8217;s best single&#8217;s match on the main NXT roster. I&#8217;m still not a fan of them putting Kali in all these high profile matches had setting her up to fail though. That&#8217;s not how you build a powerhouse. Again, I hope they don&#8217;t damage her too much. It&#8217;s also very fun to see La Catalina on WWE TV. I hope they give her some character development because she just kinda shows up. That should be easy because she was in the company for three years (WWE gave her a contract when she was 17 and she made her main roster debut as Hunico Sin Cara&#8217;s generic little buddy. Her generic look wasn&#8217;t great and she didn&#8217;t have a great run, but she left the company and reinvented herself in a great way).<\/p>\n<p>Wren Sinclair talked with Myles Borne backstage. Wren talked about how they both did similar things, but Borne was more selfish. Borne said at least he&#8217;ll be NXT Champion in the end. Kendal Grey showed up and said that she&#8217;s medically cleared (thank God she&#8217;s out of the therapy dimension)&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Another Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic match was advertised for after the break&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Vic plugged the Agent of Shadow&#8217;s movie, featuring WWE wrestlers&#8230;[c]<\/p>\n<div id=\"prowr-3730555024\" class=\"prowr-after-content
