The crowd was perhaps 125; it appears down from last week. Paul Crockett, Jake Gray, and Scott Robinson provided commentary.<\/p>\n<p><b>1. Rain Conway vs. LJ Cleary\u00a0in a spotlight match.<\/b> No Irish Junior Heavyweight Title for Cleary tonight (he wore it to the ring during a <a href=\"https:\/\/prowrestling.net\/site\/2026\/09\/21\/live-pro-wrestling-suplex-at-the-sportsplex-results-9-20-vetters-review-of-tommy-dreamer-liviyah-little-mean-kathleen-and-teddy-goodz-vs-dj-powers-lauren-st-james-sweatboy-and-trigga\/\">Live Pro Wrestling show<\/a> on Sunday). Gray and Robinson provided commentary on the opener. Standing switches to open, and Rain pulled him to the mat in a headlock. Cleary hit a one-legged dropkick at 1:30. Conway hit a decapitating clothesline for a nearfall. Cleary hit a double stomp to the back for a nearfall at 4:30. Rain rolled him up, tied up LJ&#8217;s legs, and got the (clean!) flash pin.<\/p>\n<p><i>Rain Conway defeated LJ Cleary at 4:48.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>* <b>&#8220;The Great Divide&#8221; Wrestling Open draft<\/b> took place on Sunday! The show opened by revealing the results of the draft (which took place on the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/beyondwrestling\">Beyond Wrestling official Twitter\/X account<\/a>). NOTE: The champions and those under WWE, TNA, MLW, AEW, or NWA contracts were not eligible for the draft &#8212; they will continue to appear on either brand.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Brand picked first, and they rotated every other pick (the picks are listed in the order they were selected by their respective brand, with Kylon King as the first overall pick and Dustin Waller as the second overall pick).<\/p>\n<p>Ten men were drafted exclusively to the Monday night &#8220;<i><b>Blue Brand<\/b><\/i>&#8221; in Rhode Island: Dustin Waller, Brian Morris, DJ Powers, Steven Stetson, Bobby Orlando, Anthony Vecchio, BRG, Jermaine Marbury, Anthony Greene, and Channing Thomas.<\/p>\n<p>Ten men were drafted exclusively to the Thursday night &#8220;<i><b>Green Brand<\/b><\/i>&#8221; in Massachusetts: Kylon King, Love Doug, Brand Hollister, Sammy Diaz, Danny Miles, Mani Ariez, 23 Hazard, Aaron Ortiz, Julio Cruz, and Victor Chase.<\/p>\n<p><b>2. Anthony Greene vs. Vinny &#8220;VSK&#8221; Scalice.<\/b>\u00a0Crockett took over on commentary, and he said this is actually a first-time-ever singles match. Vinny attacked from behind, and we&#8217;re underway! Vinny hit a neckbreaker over his knee. Greene hit a running neckbreaker and a double-underhook suplex for a nearfall at 2:00. Vinny took control and hit some punches. He snapped Greene&#8217;s throat against the ropes and was booed. Greene flipped Vinny from the top turnbuckle to the mat at 4:30.<\/p><div id=\"prowr-1265224696\" class=\"prowr-content-4 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_2 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_2\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Greene hit an inverted suplex, dropping Scalice face-first to the mat. Vinny hit a jumping knee, then a neckbreaker over his knee, then a Shining Wizard for a nearfall. Greene hit a side kick to the jaw. Vinny hit a mid-ring Spanish Fly. Greene hit a suplex at 6:30 and was fired up. Scalice dove through the ropes onto AG. In the ring, Vinny hit a top-rope frog splash for a nearfall, but Greene rolled him over and got the flash pin! A really sharp opener to the main show.<\/p>\n<p><i>Anthony Greene defeated Vinny &#8220;VSK&#8221; Scalice at 6:54.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>3. Kylie Alexa vs. Ruthie Jay for the Wrestling Open Women&#8217;s Title. <\/b>This is Kylie&#8217;s fifth title defense. Basic reversals early on, and they traded rollups.\u00a0Ruthie hit a Northern Lights Suplex for a nearfall at 2:00. Alexa stomped on Ruthie and choked her in the ropes. They got up and traded chops. Ruthie hit a clothesline, then a dropkick at 5:00. Ruthie hit a spin kick and a kip-up X-Factor faceplant for a nearfall. Ruthie missed a frog splash. Kylie immediately hit a suplex into the turnbuckles, then her running dropkick to the face in the corner for the pin. Solid match.<\/p>\n<p><i>Kylie Alexa defeated Ruthie Jay to retain the Wrestling Open Women&#8217;s Title at 7:16.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>4.\u00a0Bobby Casale vs. Anthony Vecchio.<\/b> These two brawled out of the back, and I started my stopwatch. Security separated them, then the <i>ref called for the bell at 00:35, <\/i>and they charged at each other and resumed brawling. Vecchio hit a Dragonscrew Legwhip in the ropes and a chop block, and he targeted Casale&#8217;s left leg. Casale hit a German Suplex at 5:00, then two more!<\/p>\n<p>Bobby hit a pumphandle Flatliner and was fired up! He pushed Vecchio into a corner and hit a series of punches to the ribs.\u00a0Casale hit a spin kick to the head and applied a standing sleeper, but Vecchio reached the ropes at 6:30. Vecchio hit a cheap shot on Casale, so Bobby hit a cheap shot back. The ref disqualified Casale.<\/p>\n<p><i>Anthony Vecchio defeated Bobby Casale via DQ at 6:35\/official time of 6:00 even.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>* We saw the video package of all the prior Wrestling Open champions. I love this; it&#8217;s very NJPW in style. Honor your history, and keep doing this for title matches. That said&#8230; why is the title match mid-show?<\/p>\n<p><b>5. Bear Bronson vs. Devin Reno for the Wrestling Open Title.<\/b> They brawled at the bell, and Bear clotheslined him to the floor at 1:30. Crockett said this is a new ring! Anyhow, they brawled at ringside, with Bear hitting some chops. Bear grabbed a fan&#8217;s sign at 3:30 that read, &#8220;Slap his bald head,&#8221; and he obliged! Funny. They got back into the ring, but Devin hit a DDT out of the ropes for a nearfall. Reno hit a hard back elbow and got a nearfall, and he was in charge.\u00a0Bronson hit a leaping butt drop to the sternum for a nearfall at 6:00.<\/p>\n<p>Bear hit a hard clothesline and peeled down the straps of his singlet, then nailed the Black Hole Slam for a nearfall. Reno hit a Corbin-style Deep Six slam for a nearfall at 8:00; he immediately got in the ref&#8217;s face and yelled at him. He tore off a turnbuckle pad. Bronson nailed the Choke Bomb, but the ref was reattaching the turnbuckle pad, and he was slow to begin counting, so Bronson only got a nearfall. <i><b>Reno pushed Bronson into an exposed corner, rolled him up, and got the flash pin! New champion<\/b><\/i>! &#8220;Devin Reno has shocked the world!&#8221; Crockett shouted. WOW.<\/p><div id=\"prowr-1766970153\" class=\"prowr-content-5 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_3 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_3\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_3\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_3\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><i><b>BUT WAIT!!!<\/b><\/i> The referees conferred and disqualified Reno for intentionally exposing the turnbuckle! Devin attacked Bear and continued to beat him up.<\/p>\n<p><i>Bear Bronson defeated Devin Reno via DQ to retain the Wrestling Open Title at 10:14.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>6. &#8220;Simply The Best&#8221; Brett Ryan Gosselin and Oxx Adams vs. Ben Bishop and Dutch.<\/b>\u00a0Seven-footer Bishop wore white pants and a white jacket &#8212; he&#8217;s ready to join The Righteous! BRG was going to start, but he tagged out so Oxx could open against Bishop. (If Ben is 7&#8217;0&#8243;, then Oxx is 6&#8217;11&#8221; or maybe even 6&#8217;10. Either way, both men are really tall!) Oxx hit a splash to the mat for a nearfall. Brett tagged in and hit a splash on Bishop for a one-count, as Ben easily kicked out. BRG tried a clothesline, but it had no impact on Bishop.<\/p>\n<p>Dutch and Oxx traded shoulder blocks at 2:00. Dutch tried some clotheslines that had no effect. Oxx dropped him with a hard clothesline! Oxx hit a sidewalk slam for a nearfall at 4:30, then he applied a belly-to-belly sleeper. They hit stereo clotheslines and were both down at 6:00. Bishop got the hot tag. He grabbed BRG, flipped him into the ring, and hit a Mafia Kick! Dutch hit a Black Hole Slam on Brett, and Ben hit a chokeslam for the pin. Satisfying match; there was never any doubt over who was eating the pin, though.<\/p>\n<p><i>Ben Bishop and Dutch defeated &#8220;Simply The Best&#8221; Brett Ryan Gosselin and Oxx Adams at 7:46.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>7. Dustin Waller vs. Ryan O&#8217;Neill in a submission match.<\/b> This feud has been building for two months. This is my third straight day of seeing Waller in action. (<i>Cagematch.net now lists this as Waller&#8217;s 111th match of the year. Last year, he hit 135 and barring injury, he should surpass that.<\/i>) He came out first, holding the green folder that holds his guaranteed match contract. Standing switches to open, and Dustin hit some chops. Ryan hit an armdrag and targeted the left arm. (I see this is already match No. 91 this year for O&#8217;Neill! Pretty impressive for the teen!)<\/p>\n<p>Dustin hit a snap suplex at 2:30; Crockett noted this is where Dustin might normally go for a cover. He kept O&#8217;Neill grounded in a headlock. Ryan hit a powerslam at 5:00; Crockett reiterated that in a normal match, O&#8217;Neill would have gone for a pin there. Ryan hit a German Suplex, then a swinging faceplant. He went for a Triangle Choke, then transitioned to a cross-armbreaker! Ryan applied a Figure Four leg lock, but O&#8217;Neill reversed it at 7:30. They rolled to the floor, still locked together!<\/p>\n<p>They got back into the ring and traded forearm strikes. Waller landed some kicks and a strike to the back of the head. He went for a Lethal Injection, but his arm gave out! Ryan immediately applied a Fujiwara Armbar at 10:00 (and the 10:00 call was spot-on!). Dustin got a foot on the ropes, but he was clutching his sore elbow. Ryan hit some forearm strikes. Dustin applied a Boston Crab in the ropes at 11:30; he let go of the hold before he could be disqualified.<\/p>\n<p>Waller hit a one-handed Lethal Injection and immediately locked in a Dragon Sleeper! Nice!\u00a0Ryan fired up and hit a series of forearm strikes, then a superkick at 13:30. They both went for an abdominal stretch. Ryan shoved Waller into Ref Gina, and she collapsed! Ryan immediately applied a Fujiwara armbar, and Dustin tapped out! Of course, Ref Gina didn&#8217;t see it! Dustin hit a low-blow punt kick. He went under the ring and got a chair, and brought it into the ring.<\/p>\n<p>However, <b>Marcus Mathers<\/b> ran into the ring and confronted Dustin! Marcus helped Ryan to his feet&#8230; but then he hit the Ospreay-style heel hook kick to Ryan&#8217;s jaw! &#8220;What the hell has gotten into him?&#8221; Crockett shouted. &#8220;And why would you do that for Dustin Waller, of all people?&#8221; Mathers struck Ryan over the back with the chair. Marcus pushed ref Gina into the ring. Waller put O&#8217;Neill into a Rings of Saturn, and Ryan passed out. Ref Gina called for the pin. Crockett was disgusted by what he just saw. He pointed out that O&#8217;Neill didn&#8217;t tap.<\/p>\n<p><i>Dustin Waller defeated Ryan O&#8217;Neill in a submission match at 17:52.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Final Thoughts:<\/b> A really strong main event. Both guys are so talented, and this really worked for me. Mathers works well as both a heel and a babyface, so I don&#8217;t mind the heel turn. The seeds for this have been planted for months, going back to miscommunication issues between him and Aaron Rourke in tag matches. So, this really didn&#8217;t &#8220;come out of nowhere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I was shocked when Reno &#8220;won&#8221; the title, and I assumed the ref&#8217;s three-count was going to stand. I&#8217;ve seen countless matches where a wrestler has won because their opponent&#8217;s head had struck an exposed corner. I truly don&#8217;t recall a referee reversing the decision and disqualifying a wrestler for it &#8212; and certainly don&#8217;t recall that in a title match. That earned second place. I don&#8217;t see Reno on Bronson&#8217;s level, so I&#8217;m glad he didn&#8217;t win the belt &#8212; but it sure would have been an unexpected jolt.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, Greene vs. Scalice was really good, and that takes third. My only criticism was once again having Crockett do the whole main show solo.\u00a0Jake Gray was there and didn&#8217;t have a match. He&#8217;s not among my favorites on color commentary, but he&#8217;s adequate. BRG is a good heel foil, and maybe he could have done a few matches, too. Greene has done some commentary too; he could have done the back half of the show after his early match, too. Point being&#8230; Crockett is decent, but it would have been better with another person in the booth.<\/p>\n<p>I really like the concept of having ten wrestlers exclusive to one night and ten wrestlers exclusive to the other.\u00a0Wrestling Open is so hot, I can see why promoter Drew Cordeiro opted to have a roster split, as it hopefully helps get more wrestlers on shows. Also, the Miracle Generation and the Shooter Boys have been split onto separate rosters, as they are all going solo.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve said this many times&#8230; but Wrestling Open is consistently the best weekly wrestling show on Mondays. I watched this live; it should be available on IWTV at some point on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"prowr-292678004\" class=\"prowr-after-content prowr-entity-placement\"><a class=\"spreaker-player\"
