The crowd was perhaps 80; after a long, HOT show here on Friday, it&#8217;s not surprising it&#8217;s down today. Paul Crockett, Jake Gray, Devin Reno, and referee Scott Robinson provided commentary.<\/p>\n<p><b>1. &#8220;The Handyman&#8221; Jake Gray vs. Richard Adonis in a spotlight match.<\/b> As the name implies, Adonis is really muscular and clearly thicker than local favorite Gray. Devin Reno and Ref Robinson provided commentary on this one. Adonis kept Gray grounded nearly the entire match. Gray fired up, hit some clotheslines, and his mid-ring Sliced Bread for the pin. Pretty basic but fine.<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;The Handyman&#8221; Jake Gray defeated Richard Adonis at 5:09.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>* Paul Crockett and Jake Gray took over on commentary for the main show. Yes, Jake sat down less than 10 minutes after his match.<\/p>\n<p><b>2. DJ Powers (w\/Nick Battee) vs. Jermaine Marbury. <\/b>DJ grabbed the mic, but as usual, the crowd shouted him down and chanted, &#8220;Cut the mic!&#8221; Crockett explained that Jermaine doesn&#8217;t feel comfortable putting someone in the Benny the Basketball costume anymore, which is why the mascot has been notably absent. Jermaine wore his Orlando Magic-themed gear. They immediately traded chops. Powers hit a back suplex for a nearfall at 1:30. Marbury hit a running crossbody block for a nearfall. Battee reached in to trip Jermaine.<\/p>\n<p>DJ immediately hit a swinging neckbreaker, and he stood on Marbury&#8217;s chest as Jermaine was in the ropes. Powers hit a hard back elbow for a nearfall at 4:00. Jermaine hit a back-body drop. Jermaine blocked a sunset flip, sat down, and got the pin! Battee reached his hands in to try and break it up but was unsuccessful. Battee got on the mic and told Jermaine he&#8217;s sick of him and he wants to end this &#8220;once and for all.&#8221; Marbury challenged him to a &#8216;time-out match.&#8217; (They had one of these in Worcester last year.)<\/p>\n<p><i>Jermaine Marbury defeated DJ Powers at 6:51<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><b>3. Sloane Jacobs and Paris Van Dale vs. Shannon LeVangie and Ruthie Jay.<\/b> Ruthie and Paris opened. The thicker PVD hit some chops. Ruthie hit a spear into the corner. Shannon and Ruthie hit a team suplex, and Shannon hit a senton for a nearfall at 1:30. Sloane tagged in, but LeVangie hit a series of kicks. Sloane hit a neckbreaker over the top rope, then an elbow drop on Shannon. The heels began working over LeVangie in their corner. Paris hit the splits across Shannon&#8217;s chest for a nearfall at 3:30; Crockett vented that it was an &#8220;arrogant cover.&#8221;<\/p><div id=\"prowr-1887871259\" class=\"prowr-content-4 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_2 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_2\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_2\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Sloane repeatedly rammed Shannon&#8217;s head on the top turnbuckle. Shannon finally hit a top-rope double crossbody block at 5:30. Ruthie got a hot tag and hit some dropkicks. She hit a slingshot Meteora on Sloane for a nearfall. Sloane hit a Jaded implant buster faceplant on Ruthie. She kicked Shannon in the head and went for a Jaded, but Shannon got a rollup. LeVangie hit a tornado DDT on Sloane, then the Twisted Bliss spinning frog splash for the pin. Good action; all four clearly work well together.<\/p>\n<p><i>Shannon LeVangie and Ruthie Jay defeated Paris Van Dale and Sloane Jacobs at 7:48.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>* Shannon got on the mic and noted she&#8217;s on a winning streak. She challenged\u00a0<u>Kylie Alexa<\/u>\u00a0to a title match next week!<\/p>\n<p><b>4. &#8220;Flyin'&#8221; Ryan O&#8217;Neill vs. Georgio Lawrence.<\/b> O&#8217;Neill came out to Lenny Kravitz&#8217; &#8220;Fly Away&#8221;; how much are the royalties for that? They traded quick reversals and had a standoff 30 seconds in. Kickboxer Georgio is thicker. Ryan hit some armdrags and a springboard crossbody block, then he flew to the floor onto Georgio. They looped the ring and traded chops. In the ring, Lawrence caught him with a big boot and got a nearfall at 2:00. Georgio took control, hitting some strikes in the corner and an Irish Whip, then a back suplex at 3:30.\u00a0O&#8217;Neill hit some clotheslines and flying back elbows, then his Cleopatra Stunner at 5:00. He nailed the Swanton Bomb for the pin!<\/p>\n<p><i>Flyin&#8217; Ryan O&#8217;Neill defeated Georgia Lawrence at 5:23.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>*\u00a0<b>Dustin Waller<\/b>, wearing a suit and glasses, ran in, hit a springboard clothesline and a suplex. He&#8217;s dressed pretty sharp! &#8220;Did you think I&#8217;d really forget about you, Flyin Ryan?&#8221; Dustin said while standing over the prone O&#8217;Neill. He told Ryan to come find him, &#8220;and I&#8217;ll see you soon.&#8221; Seriously, Waller is the Northeast&#8217;s indy MVP of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>* Footage aired of the\u00a0<b>Shooter Boys<\/b>\u00a0SHOCKING loss on Friday, and that&#8217;s not hyperbole. As a stipulation of the match, they can no longer team at Wrestling Open! I guess they are going forward as solo acts. It&#8217;s like breaking apart D-Von and Bubba Ray and sending them to different brands!\u00a0<b>Anthony Vecchio<\/b>\u00a0appeared on the stage and stated what I just wrote &#8212; he can&#8217;t team with\u00a0<u>Aaron Ortiz<\/u>\u00a0anymore! He&#8217;s here &#8220;to say goodbye to the Shooter Boys.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Vecchio thanked the crowd for cheering for them and supporting them. Vecchio said the past two years &#8220;have been the best of our lives.&#8221; He talked about winning their first-ever titles against Swipe Right (now known as the\u00a0<i>Vanity\u00a0<\/i><i>Project<\/i>). Vecchio said he&#8217;s not upset because he realizes it&#8217;s time to move on. He said he&#8217;s ready to become a singles wrestler. He vowed that whatever he does, &#8220;It will be truly astonishing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b>5. Brett Ryan Gosselin (w\/Oxx Adams) vs. Bobby Casale.<\/b> The heels came out first, and BRG cut a pretty generic promo. He boasted that he called out Casale for this match. Basic back-and-forth early on, and Casale hit a gut-wrench suplex. BRG hit a hard chop at 1:30; Bobby threw him into a corner and hit some punches to the abdomen. Crockett said BRG is &#8220;dumb&#8221; for his actions. Casale dropped him with a roundhouse kick, and he hit a senton for a nearfall. Casale blocked a stunner over the top rope, and he hit a series of Sheamus-style blows to the chest at 3:00, then he suplexed Brett back into the ring for a nearfall.<\/p>\n<p>Oxx reached in and grabbed Casale&#8217;s foot, allowing Brett to hit a superkick and get a nearfall. Brett hit a short-arm clothesline for a nearfall, then a top-rope double axe handle for a nearfall. Casale fired back with an Exploder Suplex, then three consecutive German Suplexes. Casale hit a Facewash and a Bulldog Powerslam for a nearfall at 6:30. Oxx hopped on the ring apron and struck Bobby. The ref saw this and called for the bell. Oxx got into the ring and helped beat up Bobby.<\/p><div id=\"prowr-1951940519\" class=\"prowr-content-5 prowr-entity-placement\"><!-- Tag ID: prowrestling_incontent_3 -->\r\n<div align=\"center\" data-freestar-ad=\"__336x280 __336x280\" id=\"prowrestling_incontent_3\">\r\n  <script data-cfasync=\"false\" type=\"text\/javascript\">\r\n    freestar.config.enabled_slots.push({ placementName: \"prowrestling_incontent_3\", slotId: \"prowrestling_incontent_3\" });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p><i>Bobby Casale defeated Brett Ryan Gosselin via DQ at 6:42.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>* Anthony Vecchio ran in and helped Casale beat up Oxx! Vecchio challenged Oxx and BRG to a tag match next week!<\/p>\n<p>* It&#8217;s only 8:04 p.m. local time, but they are already doing intros for the main event! I guess they are giving them a lot of time to work.<\/p>\n<p><b>6. Marcus Mathers and &#8220;Bustah &amp; The Brain&#8221; Alec Price and Jordan Oliver vs. Devin Reno and &#8220;The Verdict&#8221; Bryce Donovan and Vinny &#8216;VSK&#8217; Scalice (w\/&#8221;Smart&#8221; Mark Sterling) in the Von Erich Classic tournament finals.<\/b> Marcus wore his gold-and-white gear. Bustah &amp; The Brain wore their newly won IWTV Tag Team Titles after taking them from Davey Bang and August Matthews on Friday. Ref Gina held and displayed the two-foot-tall trophy for the winning team. The muscular, bald Reno opened against Oliver. Gray said Reno has had &#8220;a meteoric rise&#8221; in Wrestling Open since he moved to the region from the West Coast.<\/p>\n<p>Price entered and hit a suplex. Sterling grabbed Price&#8217;s ankle, allowing Reno to slam Alec to the mat at 3:00. The heels worked over Alec, with Vinny hitting his slingshot senton for a nearfall. Mathers tagged in for the first time at 4:30 and bodyslammed Reno. VSK caught Marcus with a hard knee, and Bryce immediately hit a Black Hole Slam on Marcus for a nearfall. Sterling choked Mathers in the ropes. Bryce hit a bodyslam, and he stretched Marcus on the mat. Reno hit a bodyslam at 8:30 and repeated knee drops to the back, then posed and got booed. The heels pulled Price and Oliver off the apron so they couldn&#8217;t tag in. Mathers hit a corner fadeaway stunner and his Blue Thunder Bomb on Reno, and they were both down.<\/p>\n<p>Both Oliver and Price tagged in at 10:00, and they fought VSK and Bryce. Jordan hit an Exploder suplex. Price hit a running crossbody block on Vinny. Oliver dangled VSK on the top rope, and Price hit a double stomp on Vinny&#8217;s gut! Price hit a huracanrana on Bryce, then a jumping knee on VSK. VSK hit a mid-ring Spanish Fly! Bryce hit a chokeslam. Price hit a Rebound Lariat on Bryce, and suddenly everyone was down at 12:00. That was an awesome two-minute stretch. Mathers and Reno tagged back in, and they traded forearm strikes. Reno dropped him with a European Uppercut. Mathers hit a spin kick to the jaw.<\/p>\n<p>Mathers hit a kip-up stunner on Reno, and he tied Devin in the Tree of Woe. All three babyfaces hit running kicks to Reno&#8217;s head. They hit a Shield-style team powerbomb on Reno for a nearfall at 14:00. Reno hit a neckbreaker over his knee on Oliver. Reno hit his own Blue Thunder Bomb on Mathers. Bryce hit a diving forearm strike on Mathers for a nearfall. Reno tagged back in at 15:30. Sterling punched Mathers with brass knuckles! Reno got a believable nearfall. Reno got the brass knuckles, but ref Gina confiscated them, and she ejected Sterling! Price hit a frog splash on Reno, and Mathers hit an awesome 450 Splash for a nearfall on Devin, but The Verdict made the save at 17:00.<\/p>\n<p>VSK and Oliver hit stereo Acid Kicks. Marcus hit some forearm strikes on Reno. Devin accidentally crashed into Ref Gina! She went down hard! Mathers hit his heel hook kick to Devin&#8217;s jaw for a visual pin, but we had no ref! Mark Sterling returned to ringside, holding a chair. His neck brace was gone! Reno hit a hard back elbow on Mathers. Reno swung the chair, but it ricocheted off the top rope onto his bald head at 19:00!<\/p>\n<p>Reno hit a low-blow uppercut on Mathers for a believable nearfall; I thought that was it. Rich Palladino&#8217;s 20-minute call was spot on, as Bryce and VSK jumped back in and stomped on Marcus.\u00a0Price got back in and hit a back suplex on Reno. Oliver leapt onto Bryce on the floor, and Price dove onto Sterling! VSK struck Mathers in the back with a chair. Reno hit a pop-up stunner to pin Mathers. Awesome match with a flat finish.<\/p>\n<p><i>Devin Reno and &#8220;The Verdict&#8221; Bryce Donovan and Vinny &#8216;VSK&#8217; Scalice defeated Marcus Mathers and &#8220;Bustah &amp; The Brain&#8221; Alec Price and Jordan Oliver at 21:27 to win the Von Erich Classic.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Final Thoughts:<\/b> One heck of a main event. Price and Oliver are under AEW contract, and Scalice was previously. Mathers is under a WWE ID deal, and Donovan used to be. So much talent in that one match. The women&#8217;s tag was a distant second place. Each match worked for me tonight. The talent level in the Northeast is just spectacular. (I&#8217;ll be blunt &#8212; I don&#8217;t feel that way about the talent here in the Minnesota\/Wisconsin area in 2026. An indy show here needs to bring in top names from St. Louis or Chicago to fill out a good card.)<\/p>\n<p>Even when he&#8217;s not wrestling, Dustin Waller winds up being a key focus of the show. The guy is simply on a roll and deserves the screen time he&#8217;s getting.\u00a0No real complaints, other than that it wrapped up at 8:33 p.m. local time &#8212; they could have squeezed in another match or two! The Monday shows are simply superior to their Thursday counterparts right now.\u00a0I watched this live; it should be available on IWTV sometime on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"prowr-3835058625\"
