Randy and I have yet to even touch in the ring, I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve hit him with anything, or he\u2019s hit me. None of that\u2019s ever happened. I think that\u2019s gonna be something special when it does.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><b>On John Cena and what he&#8217;s learned in WWE:<\/b> \u201cJohn Cena has made AJ Styles a better performer, there\u2019s no doubt about that. AJ Styles has learned a lot from being in the WWE, but I think the thing that I\u2019ve had the opportunity to do more while being in WWE is actually mic work. In time, you do something a lot, you\u2019re going to get better at it, and I\u2019ve certainly gotten better at getting in the ring and speaking. There\u2019s a number of things that I\u2019ve gotten better at since being in the WWE. I\u2019m a better performer because of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>On fan reactions to his performances:<\/b> \u201cI kind of feel like maybe the audience thinks, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s one of us. That\u2019s one of our guys. He\u2019s not this gigantic man, he\u2019s like one of us.\u2019 And I feel like that\u2019s the reason why there\u2019s a connection. This guy didn\u2019t go through the process of the WWE, he came here, debuted here after being in the business for sixteen years before I came to WWE. The fact of the matter is I just feel like people think, &#8216;He\u2019s one of us and no matter what he does sometimes, we\u2019re not gonna boo him.&#8217; The great thing about that is when you\u2019re in there with someone like John Cena, he knows how to capture a crowd, no matter what they feel about him, and he finds a way to get them behind what he\u2019s doing and saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>On NXT and making it directly to the main roster:<\/b> \u201cThere was never a discussion of NXT with me. I needed to be to the main roster fairly quickly because I\u2019m no spring chicken. But if they\u2019d said \u2018we want you to come down here and experience it,\u2019 sure, I mean I have no reason that I wouldn\u2019t go down there and experience it because that\u2019s what everybody does. But regardless, I was happy to be on the main roster. It was a little bit of a learning curve there, there\u2019s a lot of cameras, a lot more cameras than anywhere else I\u2019ve ever been. It was a great opportunity for me. You got to think about, when I did make my debut, there were a lot of main stars hurt.
