MJF boasted that he is the best pro wrestler today, which made Andrade El Idolo smile. MJF praised Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher. MJF also took verbal jabs at Will Ospreay, Kenny Omega, and Mark Briscoe.

Callis introduced Team DCMJF: Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and Andrade El Idolo. Andrade asked MJF if he thinks he will join him, then asked, “How you know?” Callis said Andrade is a future world champion, but told him to do the match…

Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone checked in from their broadcast desk. Excalibur hyped that MJF, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and Andrade El Idolo will face Mark Briscoe’s team in a 12-man tag, and the previously advertised matches…

Tony Nese was in the ring and wanted a match. Excalibur said Tony Khan said he had a match for him. Kenny Omega made his entrance while being introduced by ring announcer Justin Roberts…

1. Kenny Omega vs. Tony Nese (w/Mark Sterling, Ariya Daivari). Sterling has a brace over his right arm. Nese took advantage of a distraction by clipping Omega’s knee. Nese went for a moonsault from the middle rope that Omega avoided. Omega performed a snap dragon suplex and a V-Trigger. Sterling climbed on the apron. Omega used a knee strike to knock Sterling off the apron and onto Daivari on the floor. Omega hit Nese with a One Winged Angel and scored the pin.

Kenny Omega defeated Tony Nese in 1:55.

After the match, Omega got a microphone. Before Omega could speak, music played, and then TMDK’s Zack Sabre Jr., Bad Dude Tito, and Mikey Nicholls made their entrance. Omega exited the ring and went to the entrance ramp, which meets the ring apron.

Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Jack Perry walked out. Omega told the crowd it was TMDK and said that he doesn’t know what it stands for, and neither do they. Roughly two hours before showtime, WrestleTix listed the venue as being set up for 3,687 with 3,348 tickets distributed. The listed capacity is 6,400. Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia (w/Marina Shafir) vs. ROH Champion Bandido and Brody King. King helped Bandido stand on the middle of the top rope, and then Bandido performed a moonsault onto both opponents on the floor before a picture-in-picture break. [C]

Moxley performed a cutter on King, who no-sold it before hitting Moxley with a lariat, and then stayed down. Moments later, King approached Shafir at ringside and barked at her, and then she returned the favor by barking at him. The Death Riders duo isolated King before a PIP break. [C]

The isolation of King continued after the break until he dropped both opponents with a double clothesline. Bandido tagged in and worked over both opponents. Bandido pressed Garcia over his head and then slammed him on Moxley, who was down on the mat. Bandido set up for his finisher, but Moxley cut him off and then tagged out.

Garcia distracted the referee for a moment, which led to Bandido suplexing her in a crowd-pleasing spot. Bandido hit a top rope frog splash on Garcia and had him beaten, but Moxley entered the ring and hit Bandido with a Stomp. King performed a German suplex on Moxley, who stood right up, only to be put down with a lariat.

Bandido performed a 21 Plex on Garcia while King performed a suicide dive on Moxley (they followed the suicide dive and missed the shot of Bandido performing his finisher). The length of the match surprised me when I noticed the time afterward. Perhaps it was the two commercial breaks, but I wouldn’t have guessed that they went over 20 minutes. There must have been an edict to hype remaining matches, because I think they ran through the lineup at least three times in 30 minutes, which is a positive. By the way, I’m filling in for Jake Barnett tonight and next week while he visits Saskatchewan (a/k/a the vacation capital of the world). The camera pulled back to show Tomohiro Ishii lying in front of them…

The broadcast team ran through the lineup again… [C]

Tommaso Ciampa sat on a chair backstage and said he didn’t have to give Jericho 1,004 reasons why he hates him when he could give him just one. Ciampa said he used to respect the world-travelled Lionheart version of Jericho. He said he hates the 2026 Jericho, the jokes, the puns, and the desperation. Ciampa said Jericho should stay home if he was going to bring that version of himself. “Let’s dance,” Ciampa said regarding a match if Jericho thinks he’s worthy…

“The Dogs” David Finlay and Clark Connors were shown backstage as their entrance music played. Connors shoved a crew member, who handed him a box of matches. The crew member stood up and revealed himself as Adam Copeland, and then Christian Cage was shown on the other side of Finlay and Connors.

Copeland and Christian attacked Finlay and Connors and brought them to the ring. They set up for a double spear on Connors after clearing Finlay from the ring, but Finlay pulled his partner to the floor.

Copeland and Christian got microphones while Finlay and Connors headed to the back. Christian said he’d never come across a tag team who were named after their mothers. Christian said Finlay’s father should have done everyone a favor by letting David run down his leg.

Copeland said he understood why Finlay and Connors attacked them and were doing five-second poses. Copeland said Finlay and Connors were him and Christian 30 years ago. Coopeland said they thought they had it figured out 30 years ago, too, but then they came up against the New Age Outlaws and The APA. Copeland said they would use their old men strength, knowledge, and grumpiness when they face The Dogs at Forbidden Door, and will send them to the back as house trained pups…

A Starlight Kid video package aired. Kid said she would come back to Japan with the AEW Women’s Championship…

AEW Women’s Champion Thekla was shown lying on a production crate. She said she had the same rough life at the dojo as Kid, but she got kicked out of Stardom and had to do everything on her own. Thekla spoke of removing Kid’s mask at spitting in her face. “I run this place,” Thekla said… [C]

Lexi Nair interviewed Bandido and Brody King and Bandido somewhere backstage. Bandido was way too giddy about beating the Death Riders. Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, and Marina Shafir showed up. Moxley asked Bandido if he wanted a shot at the AEW Continental Championship. Moxley reminded him that it meant no one would be allowed at ringside. When Bandido confirmed that he wanted the match, Moxley told him to shoot his shot…

Powell’s POV: Not that I blame him, but add Moxley’s characer to the list of AEW wrestlers who apparently have no interest in winning the ROH Championship. Mercedes Mone vs. Hazuki in an Owen Hart Cup tournament semifinal match. Mone took an early powder. She went to the stage and looked at the Owen Hart Cup and the women’s title belt. Mone was stalling before a PIP break. [C]

Hazuki got the fans behind her by performing three dives through the ropes onto Mone on the floor. Mone came back and performed two of the Three Amigos, which drew “Eddie” chants, before Hazuki blocked the third. Mone wrenched Hazuki’s arm over the ropes. Mone performed a meteora onto Hazuki on the ramp before a PIP break. [C]

Hazuki performed a top rope splash for a near fall. Hazuki applied a crossface, which Mone broke with her hands. Mone rolled Hazuki into a pin for a near fall. The wrestlers went face-to-face while on their knees before trading elbow strikes.

A short time later, Hazuki performed a DDT and then hit a kneeling Money with a thrust kick that led to a near fall. Hazuki powered up Mone and looked a little unsteady before performing what was labeled a brainbuster. Mone rolled to the floor to avoid being pinned.

Later, Mone set up for a Moneymaker, but Hazuki countered out of it and then hooked her into a Magistral cradle for a near fall. Mone rallied with a Backstabber into the Statement Maker. Hazuki held on for a bit before tapping out…

Mercedes Mone defeated Hazuki in 22:30 to advance to the Owen Hart Cup tournament final.

The updated bracket showed that Mone will face the winner of the Athena vs. Maya World semifinal match that will air on Saturday Collision… A video package spotlighted the Athena vs. World match…

Powell’s POV: A strong match. Hazuki won over what seemed to be a mostly unfamiliar crowd. Mone gave up a lot of offense before she went over. There was no reason to think Mone would lose, but the live crowd seemed like they got caught up in the moment and bought into some of the near falls.

Tony Schiavone introduced Will Ospreay, who joined him in the ring for an interview. Schiavone noted that Ospreay was married over the weekend. Osprey said he was supposed to be on his honeymoon, but his wife told him they could go to Hawaii whenever, but he should go chase his dream. Ospreay said he took her upstairs and “smashed the life out of her.” Ospreay said he told her to “clean herself up” because he had to go to Houston.

Schiavone introduced Swerve Strickland, who was accompanied by Prince Nana. Once in the ring, Nana said Schiavone’s suit was way too tight and then told him to leave the ring. After Schiavone left, Nana handed the mic to Swerve, who said he hasn’t been impressed by what he’s seen from Ospreay lately.

Ospreay said something had changed since the last time they met. Ospreay said Swerve was looking at him differently and wondered if they had a problem. Swerve said Ospreay’s wife doesn’t even know why he does the things he does. Swerve said Ospreay has changed.

Ospreay spoke about accepting help from the Death Riders and the improvements he’s made. He recalled taking down the Young Bucks with Swerve at All In Texas. Ospreay said he told Swerve that he and Hangman Page needed help in taking the AEW World Championship back. Ospreay said Swerve didn’t say a word, and wasn’t there when he needed his help. Ospreay asked him why he didn’t help.

Swerve was about to speak, but Ospreay knocked the microphone out of his hand. Ospreay said the Owen Hart Cup final is Swerve’s redemption, but it’s his dream. Ospreay said he doesn’t care if Swerve sees him as a friend; he’s standing in the way of his dream. Ospreay said he knew Swerve wouldn’t hesitate to end his dream, so he wouldn’t hesitate to end him.

Swerve grabbed the mic and said, “Not if I do it first.” Swerve recalled Ospreay telling him that it wasn’t his time. Swerve said he accepted it and helped fight the Death Riders while Hangman Page won the AEW World Championship. Swerve asked where Hangman is now.

Swerve was censored for something he said after scoffing at the idea of letting Ospreay move on in the tournament. Swerve said it’s fireworks whenever he and Ospreay get in the ring together. He said they changed the conversation of what pro wrestling is and what it will be. Swerve said they raise the bar regardless of whether they are opponents ot tag team partners.

Swerve said Ospreay was unable to beat him over the last ten years. Swerve said he would win the AEW World Championship and then Ospreay could challenge him, but he would beat him repeatedly because he can’t measure up due to his “fragile-ass neck.” Ospreay punched Swerve, who ended up seated in a corner of the ring. Nana handed Swerve the chain that Swerve wears to the ring.

The Death Riders’ entrance music played while Jon Moxley, Marina Shafir, Daniel Garcia, and Pac entered through the crowd and then surrounded the ring. “You’re wrong, Will, you really have changed,” Swerve said before dropping the mic and exiting the ring via the ramp…

Powell’s POV: This was more effective than the verbal segments for the other Forbidden Door matches, but it felt long-winded as they tried to recap some of their history together. It’s worth noting that while Schiavone congratulated Ospreay for getting married over the weekend, I don’t believe either one of them mentioned that he married Alex Windsor.

Lexi Nair interviewed Chris Jericho on the backstage interview set. Nair asked about Tommaso Ciampa calling for a more serious version of Jericho, who called for a face-to-face meeting with Ciampa on Saturday’s AEW Collision… [C]

Backstage, Daniel Garcia worked up Will Ospreay over Swerve Strickland, calling him fragile. Ospreay grabbed Garcia. Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir showed up. Moxley asked Ospreay if he felt in control. Ospreay said he did not. Moxley said words can’t hurt him. Moxley told Ospreay not to lose control. Ospreay let go of Garcia…

MJF made his entrance, followed by his Don Callis Family teammates for the main event…

Backstage, Mark Briscoe stood with Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly. Briscoe said they were his first three partners. O’Reilly said he overheard Tony Khan saying that if anyone gets disqualified in the main event, they would be out of Forbidden Door. Briscoe said that was a shame because he was going to beat MJF’s head in with a chair.

Briscoe said he had two more partners. Briscoe introduced Kazuchika Okada, who said he hates Kazuchika Okada. Briscoe introduced Darby Allin as his final partner. Darby said they would win the match and then Briscoe would win the AEW World Championship. Briscoe and his teammates made their entrances for the main event… [C]

Powell’s POV: No surprise teammates for Briscoe, but they’re all logical due to either being his regular allies or babyfaces who have issues with the Callis Family members.

4. Excalibur said Tony Khan officially booked Jon Moxley vs. Bandido for the AEW Continental Championship for Forbidden Door.
