Cole was joined on commentary by Pat McAfee. Cody asked the San Antonio crowd what they wanted to talk about.

Cody said he would love to talk about how in the main event at WrestleMania XL he will stand across from the greatest champion in company history. The fans booed when Cody mentioned Reigns. “However, I am really unable to talk about that because of a distraction,” Rhodes said. He conceded that the distraction stings quite a bit.

Cody said he was referring to The Rock, which drew boos. Cody recalled Rock posting a 16-minute video on Instagram, deleting it, and then posting a 21-minute director’s cut video. Cody said Rock referred to the fans as meth-heads and badmouth his dog. Cody told Rock not to ever talk about his dog.

Cody said the biggest headline that Rock made sure wasn’t the headline was that Rock did not accept his challenge to a one-on-one match. Cody said Rock spun things and issued a new challenge “like the master politician that he is.” Cody said no wonder people want Rock to run for office.

Cody said what Rock recalled telling him when he whispered into his ear on Smackdown was mostly true. He said Rock poured honey in his ear and said that the people wanted Rock vs. Roman rather than Cody vs. Roman. Cody said the most peculiar thing happened when the fans chanted for something else. A “we want Cody” chant broke out.

Cody said WWE officials heard and it Rock heard it, which triggered Rock to refer to the fans as crybabies. Cody said Rock’s challenge doesn’t just involve him, it now involves his friend. Rollins came out wearing a neon outfit and a graphic listed his ongoing reign as champion being 282 days in length. Rollins joined Cody inside the ring and then listened to the crowd chant his entrance theme.

Rollins referred to Cody as “Mr. Nightmare” and asked him what he was thinking. Cody recalled Rollins offering to have his back against The Bloodline. Cody said the plot has been twisted and he didn’t even think he would be on the WrestleMania card. Cody said it wasn’t until he saw Rock’s powerpoint presentation about his family history that he decided he had to go back on his word.

Cody said Rollins has to face Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania and he would fully understand if Rollins wanted to focus on that match and is not onboard with having his back. Rollins said he respects Cody for giving him the out, he’ll take care of McIntyre.

Rollins recalled stating that some things “are bigger than us and taking down The Bloodline is the biggest thing we can do.” Rollins said it’s not just Cody’s story that needs to be finished at WrestleMania, his own story does too.

Rollins spoke about his history with Reigns. Rollins said he wants to give the power back to the people, whereas Reigns wants to keep it all for himself. Rollins said that with Rock in The Bloodline, they were very close to Reigns having absolute power. Rollins told the fans that he’s kinda over The Rock.

A “Rocky sucks” chant broke out. Rollins said Rocky does suck and he hasn’t been The Rock or the People’s Champ for a long time. Rollins said he wasn’t going to call him those things anymore and came up with a new name for Rock.

Rollins dubbed The Rock “Diarrhea Dwayne”. Ugh. Rollins looked into the camera and dared Rock to try. Rollins said 21 minutes is a long time to listen to that idiot and then mocked Rock for claiming he made wrestling cool again.

“Our savior, guys, he saved us, he made it cool,” Rollins mocked. Rollins said Rock hasn’t been cool in twenty years. Rollins said what is cool is that he received 100 percent medical clearance earlier in the day. Rollins said he is good to go and would be at Smackdown on Friday to confront The Bloodline.

Rollins recalled saying he had Cody’s back and then asked if Cody has his back. A “Yes” chant broke out. “Well, to answer your question, I guess I also have a message for The Rock,” Cody said. “Rock, it’s been a long time since you haven’t just been handed something.”

Cody said he thinks The Rock forgot. Gunther laughed at him and walked away…

Jey Uso looked into the camera and delivered a promo about Drew McIntyre. Uso recalled McIntyre saying he wanted an apology from him. Jey said he was sorry for what he was going to do to him. Jey said McIntyre would find out that “Jey don’t play.” Jey put on a pair of shades that had “YEET” written on them while Cole said the main event was up next… [C]

R-Truth, Xavier Woods, Tommaso Ciampa, and Johnny Gargano were playing the WWE 2K24 video game while The Miz stood by. Truth continued the gag about Ciampa and Gargano being DX. Miz said he didn’t like Truth’s idea for getting revenge on Judgment Day by dropping slime on them. Miz said they need to take their tag team titles. They once again dubbed themselves Regeneration X and Woods said he loved it…

Cole plugged the video game and then McAfee asked him about the “antler juice” on his face. McAfee used the telestrator on a still shot of Cole wearing the antlers. They listed the following matches for next week’s Raw: Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan, The Kabuki Warriors vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, and the six-man gauntlet match for a shot at the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania…

Jey Uso made his entrance for the main event and then Drew McIntyre’s entrance followed (I don’t miss that stupid sword). Cole said McIntyre would challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in one of the “co-main events” of WrestleMania Sunday…

7. Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso. They quickly fought to ringside where McIntyre picked up Uso and tossed him over the broadcast table. McIntyre approached a camera and said “Yeet” heading into a break. [C] McIntyre stood on the middle rope and set up for White Noise, but Jey slipped away.

Jey powerbombed McIntyre and covered him for a two count. Jey went for a top rope move, but McIntyre put his knees up. McIntyre put Jey down with a spinebuster for a two count. McIntyre sent Uso to the floor and followed him. McIntyre suplexed Uso in front of the broadcast team heading into the final break. [C]

Jey had a run of offense that he capped off with a Samoan Drop for a two count. Jey played to the receptive crowd and then hit a hip attack in the corner while Cole said he was paying tribute to the late Umaga. McIntyre rolled to the floor and then Jey hit him with a suicide dive. Jey rolled McIntyre back inside the ring and then went up top.

Solo Sikoa hopped the ringside barricade and distracted Jey, allowing McIntyre to put Jey down with a Future Shock DDT for a near fall.

Cody Rhodes’ entrance music played and he ran to ringside and fought with Sikoa. Cody slammed Sikoa’s head on the ring steps and then clotheslined him over the barricade. Cody hopped the barricade and fought with Sikoa.

In the ring, McIntyre went for a Claymore Kick, but Uso cut him off with a superkick. Jey threw two more superkicks and then speared McIntyre. Jey went to the apron and stopped.

Jimmy Uso showed up next to the broadcast table. Jey returned to the ring and ate a Claymore Kick. McIntyre covered Jey and scored the pin.

Drew McIntyre defeated Jey Uso in 16:45.

After the match, Jimmy grabbed a chair and entered the ring with it while McIntyre headed toward the stage. Seth Rollins made his entrance and ran past McIntyre to get in the ring where he took out Jimmy with a superkick that drove the chair into his face. McIntyre followed Rollins to the ring and put him down with a Claymore Kick once he turned around.

McIntyre knelt over Rollins and jawed at him about doing the right thing while holding the World Heavyweight Championship belt in his face. Cole said McIntyre told Rollins to stay focused on him and stop worrying about everything else or he will take his title. Cole was cut off while he was speaking as the show concluded…

Powell’s POV: A solid main event. The interference actually spiced things up quite a bit and it was all logical in terms of the story being told with Jimmy and Jey, Cody and Seth and The Bloodline, and McIntyre and Rollins.

Overall, they filled the three hours nicely. It wasn’t a loaded show, but they kept things interesting and didn’t have too many lulls.
