Mike Bennett and Maria Kannellis-Bennett have opted to leave TNA Impact Wrestling, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. Meanwhile, Johnson also reports that the contract of Jade (Stephanie Bell) has expired.
Powell’s POV: At the rate this is going, you won’t be able to tell the players without a program when the company starts taping television tomorrow in Orlando, Florida. The Bennetts worked on nightly deals at the last tapings, but it appears they do not intend to continue working for the company. Maria was arguably the best talker in the company last year, and Bennett definitely improved his stock with a good year as a singles wrestler in TNA following a long run in Ring of Honor. It will be interesting to see what their next move will be. It’s worth noting that Maria has mentioned the possibility of leaving the pro wrestling business to focus on her ongoing education. The Bennetts and Jade, who works as Mia Yim on the independent scene, would all make fine additions to WWE/NXT.
