WWE NXT Hits:

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens contract signing: Just as Regal said it would, this didn't go like every other contract signing in WWE history. By forcing both men to not punch each other, they not only saved a big moment for the live special when these two finally get their hands on each other, but they also laid the groundwork for Owens to push Zayn's buttons. Zayn showed great passion, and they recapped their history well without going over the top (I'd love a video package on their history at Takeover IV, given WWE has used ROH footage in the past). Meanwhile Owens, whilst still not going full throttle, portrayed his character well. His continued insistence that "it isn't personal" when Zayn clearly feels it is has proven to be an effective hook so far.

The Lucha Dragons vs. Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy: Well damn! Who saw this coming before this taping? The match pails in comparison to the competitive non-title match these two had a few months ago (the match that put Blake and Murphy on everyone's radar), but this style of match actually worked better in selling the shock win. The Dragons were rolling, and the plucky rookies outsmarted them. Making them a team to be reckoned with can come at the expected Live Special rematch, but even if Blake & Murphy do go forward for a little while as "lucky" champions who always manage to pull out a win, would it be that bad? Everyone loves a Mikey Whipwreck / RD Evans character.

Adrian Neville vs. Tyson Kidd: What more could possibly be said about the great chemistry these two men have? They may have taken the choice to do a little stalling early on, but it was never boring, and they more than made up for it in the hot finish. If the rumours that Neville may be brought up to be a "Might Mouse" rip-off are true, someone in creative should be fired.

Solomon Crowe vignette: Latest weather update: Hell is experiencing sub-zero temperatures.

Charlotte and Bayley vs. Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch: A few sloppy spots aside, this did a nice job of highlighting the escalating tension between all four women, particularly Bayley and Charlotte. Bayley showing believable character progression shouldn't be such a big deal, but when we live in a world of the Bella Twins wishing death on each other weeks before being on the same page again, it deserves championing.

WWE NXT Misses

Baron Corbin vs. Bull Dempsey: Urgh. Ctrl + C, Ctrl + P.
