WWE News: The Rock lands an HBO comedy pilot

WWE star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will star and serve as an executive producer on a 30-minute dramedy pilot for HBO. The pilot will be written by Steve Levinson and will chronicle the lives of athletes living in Miami. Actor Mark Wahlberg is a also an executive producer. For more on the story, visit Deadline.com.
Powell's POV: Rock's manager and ex-wife Dany Johnson will also serve as an executive producer. Levinson has co-written episodes of "Entourage." The Rock project is untitled at this time. HBO has a history of producing some great television shows, so expectations will be high if the pilot leads to a series.
