Prowrestling.net has confirmed reports that Brian Gewirtz has been removed from his position as the top writer of WWE Raw.

Powell's POV: Gewirtz was promoted to the corporate title of Senior Vice President of Creative Writing, while Dave Kapoor was promoted previously to the lead writer title. However, Kapoor essentially reported to Gewirtz before today. One source has noted that Gewirtz's contract is such that he can't be simply fired and would have to be bought out of his contract, but the company could opt to pay him to sit home. All signs point to this being a case of Vince McMahon being extremely frustrated over the recent television ratings.
