WWE News: WrestleMania 27 grosses over $6 million, sets attendance record (sort of)

WWE issued a press release on Sunday night to trumpet that there were 71,617 fans in attendance at WrestleMania 27. The company hyped that it was "the most attended entertainment event" at the Georgia Dome. The event grossed $6.6 million. You can read the full press release at Corporate.WWE.com.
Powell's POV: WWE is hyping this as an attendance record for the Georgia Dome, but the actual record is for the 75,892 fans who attended the 2008 SEC Championship Game, according to the venue's Wikipedia page. Thus, the key is the "entertainment event" that WWE used. Even so, the attendance and the gross are very impressive.
