TNA News: Kevin Nash blew up backstage after Chris Sabin was injured during a match
Oct 21, 2009 - 06:55 PM |
TNA wrestler Chris Sabin suffered a concussion at the Impact taping on Wednesday. He was working a tag match with Alex Shelley against Team 3D when he landed awkwardly while taking a move. A source reports that Sabin told people afterward he was out cold during the match, but he quickly regained his composure and somehow finished the match.
Kevin Nash blew up backstage afterward. He yelled at Team 3D for not aborting the planned finish because he felt Sabin's health should have been the first priority. He felt that as veterans, Brother Ray and Devon should have made that call on the fly. He also felt that someone from production could have given a cue to the referee to end the match.
Powell's POV: Sabin was examined afterward and was said to be feeling much better by the time the taping concluded. Nash is being praised by his coworkers for this outburst. The feeling of Nash's peers that he showed he legitimately cared about the safety of his coworkers and the hope is that management got the message and will implement precautionary procedures should similar incidents happen in the future.
Although Nash was hot at Team 3D for not ending the match, there is no heat on them over Sabin's injury, as it was simply an accident.
I broke the news regarding Sabin's injury earlier tonight on the Pro Wrestling Radio show with Eric Gargiulo. Special thanks to Eric for having me as a guest. You can check out his show at ProWrestlingRadio.com.
