WWE Raw on the USA Network
Taped earlier in the day in London, England at the O2 Arena

[Q1] The opening video played and then pyro shot off on the stage... Michael Cole, JBL, and Booker T were on commentary. Cole said there were 16,750 fans at the sold out show...

John Cena made his entrance to boos and fans singing "John Cena Sucks" as his music played. Cena was still sporting the black eye he appeared to suffer during last week's match with Stardust. At ringside, JBL welcomed Cole back and asked about his neck. Cole said he was doing okay and they would talk more about that later. He set up shots of various British landmarks.

Cena told the fans not to adjust the volume on their televisions because Raw was "live from London and London is loud." The fans booed. Cena said there are times when he and London don't always get around. He said the London crowd has more excitement and energy than any crowd they perform in front of.

Cena said he got heat last time he said it, but he was saying it again. "I think London deserves WrestleMania," Cena said. "Tell me I'm wrong." The fans roared. Cena said those who make that choices have made the choice for London to wait, just as Rusev is making him wait until Extreme Rules for their rematch. Cena said the open challenge starts now. "If you want some, come get some," Cena concluded.

Bad News Barrett's music played and the crowd roared. Cena stopped walking around the ring and flashed a look of surprise or concern. The fans chanted for Barrett, who thanked the fans and noted that he hadn't done anything yet. Barrett said he agrees with Cena for once. He said why should he wait to face Daniel Bryan for the Intercontinental Title at Extreme Rules when he could beat him tonight for the U.S. Championship "in front of the greatest nation in the world." Eden Stiles handled the in-ring introductions for the title match... [C]

Powell's POV: Cena definitely wins over his London haters whenever he mentions the idea of holding WrestleMania there. I don't know how likely it is to happen while pay-per-view is still in play, but don't see why London couldn't get a pay-per-view at the very least once everything shifts to the network. Raw started at 1 p.m. CT, so it would just be a matter of airing a pay-per-view live on a Sunday afternoon and airing the replay in the traditional Sunday evening slot.

1. John Cena vs. Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Title. Cena performed a cross-body block off the ropes for a two count, then signaled for the Five Knuckle Shuffle.

[Q2] Barrett avoided that a couple times, and got a near fall of his own at 5:15 off of Winds of Change. JBL said that Barrett winning the title in London would make it sound like late British wrestling legend Big Daddy (Shirley Crabtree) was back. Cena and Barrett engaged in the yay/boo punches with the fans cheering Barrett. There was a cool spot where Barrett pressed Cena on the ropes and kicked him, then hit Wasteland for two.

Barrett went for the Bull Hammer, but Cena avoided it and hit the Attitude Adjustment. The crowd booed the move, then cheered when Barrett kicked out. "You don't see that too often," Booker said. JBL said "wow" a couple times. Barrett came back with the Bull Hammer for a good near fall. The fans chanted "This is Awesome." Barrett went for the move again, but Cena ducked it, hit the Springboard Stunner, then followed up with the Attitude Adjustment for the clean win...

John Cena defeated Bad News Barrett to retain the U.S. Championship in 9:50.

After the match, Rusev's music played and Lana walked onto the stage. She started talking about how Cena despises Rusev for waiting until Extreme Rules. Suddenly, Rusev struck Cena from behind with a chain. Lana said the extra time gave her a chance to negotiate and their match at Extreme Rules will be a Russian chain match. Rusev held up the chain and the U.S. Championship while standing over Cena...

Powell's POV: A good match with some fun ups and downs for the live crowd. They thought the match was over when Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment the first time, and many seemed to think Barrett was on the verge of winning when he connected with his finisher. The post match attack angle was well done. They do need to establish what the Russian chain match is. The broadcast team was very underwhelming when Barrett kicked out of the Attitude Adjustment. The color commentators acknowledged it, but they and Cole should have done more to make that seem like a big deal.

At ringside, JBL asked Cole about the lawsuit he filed against Brock Lesnar. Cole said it's a private matter and he will be happy to discuss it at another time. Cole shifted the focus back to Cena, then set up a video clip of the main event from last week... Randy Orton vs. Cesaro, and Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler were announced for later in the show... The Bella Twins made their entrance (past the usual car and phone booth) as Cole said they would be joining the broadcast team for the Divas battle royal... [C]

[Q3] Triple H will return next week to make an announcement regarding Tough Enough...

Powell's POV: I'm guessing he will announce the head trainer. I'm also guessing that either he is the head trainer or will be heavily involved in the show. That said, Chris Jericho has been rumored for the head trainer role.

2. Battle Royal to become No. 1 contender to the Divas Championship. The participants were Summer Rae, Natalya, Naomi, Cameron, Rosa, Emma, Paige, Alicia Fox. Rosa kicked Summer and Natalya out, then Emma eliminated her. Emma was eliminated by Fox. The final four were Paige, Naomi, Alicia, and Cameron.

The heels came close to eliminating Paige, but Naomi saved her and then she and Paige eliminated Alicia and Cameron. Naomi had Paige on the ring apron and tried to force her off, but Paige fought back and hit Naomi with several knee strikes. Naomi caught her with a shot and tried to force her off again, but Paige managed to get back in the ring. A short time later, Paige eliminated Naomi to win the match and earn the title shot at Extreme Rules...

Paige won a battle royal to become No. 1 contender to the Divas Championship in 3:50.

Cole hyped an interview with Paige for after the break. Cole also hyped that Roman Reigns would speak about WrestleMania on Raw for the first time since the event... [C]

Powell's POV: I was surprised this afternoon when Haydn Gleed sent the spoilers that they didn't go with Naomi given all of the wins they have been given her lately. By the way, I won't spoil anything that happens on the show before it airs tonight. That said, we will have live updates from the Smackdown taping on Tuesday afternoon.

Cole spoke and noted the shots of Big Ben and Parliament...

Griswold's POV: Hey, look, kids, there's Big Ben and there's Parliament...again.

Byron Saxton interviewed Paige in the ring. She spoke about teaming with A.J. Lee and winning her first WrestleMania match. She said nothing will compare to winning this battle royal in her home country. She said she started with her family in England working carnivals and high school gyms just to make it to WWE. She pointed to her dad and her brothers, and said, "This is my home.

Saxton asked if Paige had anything to say to Nikki Bella. Suddenly, Naomi attacked Paige. Naomi took Paige to ringside and threw her aggressively into the barricade a few times and left her lying. The crowd booed as Naomi backed up the ramp and said, "Thank you" repeatedly...

[Q4] They cut to a Bray Wyatt pre-taped promo. He spoke about how love can be blinding and he's going to rip out that love and fill the void with fear. He said fear is stronger than love could ever be. He told his mystery target to pay attention because he's talking "to you"... [C]

Powell's POV: Getting back to being surprised by Naomi, I was pleasantly surprised to see they turned her heel. The whole funk thing had really run it's course and she needed a change. I'm curious to see whether this leads to an Uso turn or if her marriage will be ignored just as the Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella marriage is ignored on all WWE television other than Total Divas.

3. The Lucha Dragons vs. The Ascension. Kalisto performed some impressive offense and the match ended with Sin Cara performing a senton splash onto Viktor and pinning him...

The Lucha Dragons beat The Ascension in 2:15.

The broadcast team hyped WWE Network and the free month for new subscribers, then hyped the Roman Reigns interview... [C]

Powell's POV: The Dragons beating The Ascension to win the NXT Tag Title was a big deal last year. This felt like a quick enhancement match win for the Dragons. It's good to see Reigns is finally going to speak on Raw. I was critical of WWE for only having him speak on Smackdown since WrestleMania. No, his one sentence to Renee Young backstage on Raw last week doesn't count.

Booker T stood in the ring and introduced Roman Reigns for an interview. Reigns was booed. Reigns made his entrance through the crowd and got lots of and pats from the fans in the aisle.

[Q5] Booker asked Reigns what his mental state is. Reigns smiled and said, "As you can see, I'm mentally strong for a reason." The fans chanted Suplex City. Reigns said he went there and he got up the next day. He recalled saying he would give fans a brutal fight. He said he was going to come out swinging and make The Beast taste his own blood.

Reigns said he told the world he could beat Lesnar and he could have. Reigns said he was "this close" to winning. He said Seth Rollins "did what he was supposed to do" by "capitalizing on the moment." Reigns said Rollins took his moment. Reigns said he has beaten Rollins and that means he will become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Booker said he believes Reigns. He said that if it wasn't for Big Show, Reigns would be challenging Rollins at Extreme Rules. "Thank you, Big Show," fans chanted. Funny. Reigns said Show screwed him. Reigns put over Show's accomplishments and said lately he has been "Seth's bitch." Reigns looked to the crowd and asked, "Am I right?"

Show appeared on the big screen and said Reigns failed at WrestleMania. Show said Reigns is a bum and he enjoys taking him down. Show said his goal and pleasure are making Reigns the most epic failure in WWE history. Show said every time Reigns gets up, he is going to knock him down.

Reigns smiled. He said it was coming from the jumbo tron. He said Show is either too lazy or he doesn't have the balls to say it to his face. Reigns said if Show continues to stick his nose in his business, he's going to stick the Andre trophy down his throat and retire him.

Reigns headed toward the back, but Show attacked him once he went through the entrance area. Show ran Reigns into the car that was set up on the stage. Fans chanted "you sold out" at Show, who ended up chokeslamming Reigns onto the top of the car... [C]

Powell's POV: A decent promo from Reigns, who looked far less grumpy than he did coming out of WrestleMania. The post-match attack was nicely done even if it does prolong a feud that I don't have much interest in. Here's hoping Extreme Rules is the end of the road for Reigns vs. Show. I still wonder if Reigns is the mystery man that Wyatt is targeting.

The broadcast team recapped the previous segment. Cole said Reigns actually blew off medical attention and walked to the back on his own. JBL said Reigns is hurt despite that...

[Q6] 4. Randy Orton vs. Cesaro (w/Tyson Kidd, Natalya). Cole said Orton and Rollins will be able to choose stipulations for their Extreme Rules match if they win their Raw matches. Late in the match, Kidd pulled Orton off the ring apron. Orton immediately clotheslined Kidd, but the referee called for the DQ.

Randy Orton beat Cesaro by DQ in 2:25.

After the match, Kane came out and said The Authority were back from vacation but did not go to London. Kane said he is still in charge. He said he can't let the match end in a DQ. He booked Orton vs. Kidd and Cesaro in a handicap match...

Powell's POV: No, they wouldn't...

5. Randy Orton vs. Cesaro and Tyson Kidd (w/Natalya) in a handicap match. The tag champs put the boots to Orton to start the match and they cut to a quick commercial. [C] Kidd and Cesaro got the better of Orton, but he took out Cesaro and then caught Kidd leaping off the ropes with an RKO for the win...

Randy Orton defeated Cesaro and Tyson Kidd in a handicap match in 6:45.

Powell's POV: ...They would. Seriously, why does this continue to happen in WWE? Orton gains nothing and the tag champions and the tag titles are devalued.

Backstage, Kane, Seth Rollins, Jamie Noble, and Joey Mercury were shown watching the monitor. Rollins asked Kane if he had any more bright ideas. Kane suggested that Rollins beat Dolph Ziggler and then pick a stipulation of his own.

[Q7] Rollins said he would face Noble, who would lie down for him. Noble asked why he had to lay down for Rollins when Kane booked the Triple Threat match, and then gave Orton the chance to pick a stipulation. Kane cut him off and said he had another idea that involved a car battery and Noble's testicles.

Rollins told him to take it easy. Rollins said Noble had a point in that it was all on Kane. Kane said he would be at ringside watching Rollins' back as he always does. He asked if Rollins was afraid of Ziggler. Rollins laughed and said he is not, but he needs the win tonight.

Rollins said he needs to face someone who knows what's best for the business. Kane asked if he was implying that he would lay down for Rollins and let him pin him. Rollins said his number one priority is to protect him and his title, so maybe Kane was the man for the job. Rollins said they could get Triple H on the phone. Kane scowled and left the room. Rollins told J&J Security to stay with him because Kane knows he has no choice... [C]

Powell's POV: A good backstage segment that sets up an interesting dilemma for Kane. I really don't want to see another Kane babyface run for no reason, but I would approve if Kane is planning to hang up the boots after another babyface run. He'll be 48 later this month, so you never know when the iron man will opt to move on.

6. Dean Ambrose vs. Adam Rose. Rose was already in the ring coming out of the break and they showed footage of the abuse that Ambrose has taken from Luke Harper as Ambrose made his entrance. There were Rosebuds at ringside. Ambrose performed Dirty Deeds for the win...

Dean Ambrose defeated Adam Rose in 2:10.

Backstage, Kane was shown talking on the telephone. He hung up the phone and Big Show approached him. Show brought up knocking out John Cena at Survivor Series. He said he did what he had to do to be part of the winning team. Show said he's been on both sides, and The Authority is the winning team.

Show said he felt for Kane, but "we don't always get to do what we want to do, we do what we need to do." Show asked Kane to do what needs to be done. Kane said he will face Rollins and would do what's best for business... [C]

A graphic boasted about the number of downloads the WWE app has had. Cheap plug: We like to boast too, so download our free Prowrestling.net apps or check out the mobile version of the website...

[Q8] 7. Stardust vs. Fandango (w/Rosa). Stardust dodged Fandango coming off the top rope, then hit the Beautiful Disaster kick for the win...

Stardust defeated Fandango in 1:00.

After the match, Fandango took the mic and said he figured out what the problem is. He said he is sharing his gift of dance with Rosa when he should be sharing it with the entire world. The Fandango theme played and he danced on the announcers' table and the barricade while the live crowd Fandangoed with him...

Backstage, Daniel Bryan was standing next to Kane, who asked him to go away. Bryan asked what happened to him. He said he gets it, Kane is going to lay down for Rollins. "So you think what's best for business is emulating one of the key moves that put WCW out of business," Bryan said. "Oh, that's real smart." Bryan said the Kane he knows would Tombstone Rollins on the steel steps and damn near end his career. Bryan said he would insult Kane if he thought it would make a difference, but he feels sorry for him. Kane yelled, "Leave!" Bryan told him that if he has an ounce of pride he won't be a stooge, he'll be a man...

Powell's POV: I'm not sure if the Fandangoing bit is back for good or if this was a one night deal for the London crowd. It was a fun stroll down memory lane tonight, but I can't imagine it will have much staying power. At least we'll know he's a babyface since it's been awkward with him in that role while he's had Rosa all over him. The backstage segment with Bryan and Kane was well done. This is the most compelling story they've told with Kane in a long time.

Footage aired of Rusev attacking John Cena earlier in the show... Cole said the most famous Russian chain match involves Bruno Sammartino and Ivan Koloff. Cole hyped that John Cena will appear on Smackdown and will have another open challenge on Thursday...

Powell's POV: I like that they acknowledged something historical, but this would have been a great time for them to hype that network subscribers can go watch the match in a particular section. And if the match isn't available on the network then it should be.

8. WWE World Heavyweight Championship Seth Rollins (w/Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury) vs. Kane in a non-title match. Kane came out wearing his suit. JBL said it didn't look like Kane was dressed for a fight. Rollins and his henchmen applauded as Kane walked to the ring. The bell rang and Kane slowly removed his jacket, tie and shirt.

[Q9] Kane walked over and stood face-to-face with Rollins, who told him to lay down and get it over with since it's best for business. Kane dropped to one knee. The crowd booed. Kane eventually laid down on his back. Rollins hooked his leg, but Kane threw him off. Rollins looked surprised by this development and then begged off.

Noble and Mercury entered the ring. Kane grabbed them by the throats and pushed them down. Rollins got up and jawed at Kane and ordered him to lay down. Kane tagged him with an uppercut and then signaled for the chokeslam. Rollins begged off and told Kane to think about his job, then pleaded with him not to do it.

Kane dropped his arm at his side. "Lay down, Kane," Rollins barked. Kane dropped to one knee again while the fans chanted no briefly. Kane grabbed a mouthy Rollins by the throat and chokeslammed him. Kane started to make the throat-slashing gesture, but stopped. Kane kicked Rollins' arm aside and then laid down next to him, and pulled Rollins on top of him. The ref counted the pin...

Seth Rollins defeated Kane in a non-title match in 4:35.

JBL said he just lost all respect for Kane even though he understands it. Cole said the only thing that matters is both men get to pick stipulations for the title match at Extreme Rules. Cole said the announcement of those choices will be made later on Raw... Mizdow was shown walking backstage, as Cole said the rivalry between Mizdow and Miz continues... [C]

Powell's POV: The Kane and Rollins segment was great television. It's one of those times when I wish I hadn't known the spoiler going in because it would have been fun to experience without knowing where it was going. Kane was great in his conflicted role, and Rollins continues to thrive as the wormy top heel. The building would have come unglued if Kane had completed the throat slashing gesture. The fans were really hot at that point, and it was fun to watch Kane play with their emotions. Extremely well done. The only negative is that I don't get the reaction of JBL. He's the guy who applauds everything the heels do, so it's odd that he's condemning Kane's actions rather than commending him. Does that mean Kane is a babyface now?

Footage aired from Smackdown of Mizdow punching Miz, and then planting a kiss on Summer Rae...

9. The Miz vs. Mizdow (w/Summer Rae). JBL said Mizdow is a stalker and Summer is a gold digger. The crowd played along with the usual Miz and Mizdow pre-match antics. Miz attacked Mizdow as he was taking his jacket off. Mizdow ended up rolling up Miz and pinning him...

Mizdow beat The Miz in 2:00.

The latest Prime Time Players pre-tape promo aired. They had Los Matadores masks. A graphic of the real Los Matadores flashed on the screen because fans are stupid and have short memories. They had a rainbow colored dog instead of El Torito, which was done simply so Darren Young could say rainbow is his favorite color. You know, because he is gay. Titus O'Neil asked, "Whoever heard of a Puerto Rican bullfighter. They did their stupid dance...

[Q10] Cole hyped the "Extreme Decision" from Rollins and Orton... [C]

Powell's POV: The third hour of Raw makes it possible for WWE to find the time to give the Prime Time Players their weekly pre-tape of stupidity, yet it apparently doesn't leave the company with enough time to do the Miz vs. Mizdow post-WrestleMania feud properly.

10. Ryback vs. Luke Harper. Harper caught Ryback with an early superkick for a two count. The announcers put it over big, but the live crowd didn't seem to believe that would be the finish. Ryback came back with a slam and then set up for a clothesline, but Harper ducked to ringside. Ryback went after Harper, who pulled the top part of the broadcast team's table up and struck Ryback with it for the DQ. After the match, Dean Ambrose ran out, but Harper walked away...

Ryback defeated Luke Harper by DQ in 1:50.

Powell's POV: The brief matches are giving the show a good pace, but nothing that happens in these matches is really sticking.

The broadcast team recapped footage of Naomi attacking Page after the battle royal. Cole said Paige was still being evaluated by the medical staff...

Backstage, Byron Saxton asked Naomi what motivated her to attack Paige in her own country. Naomi acted apologetic, then started laughing. "No way, she said. "I could care less. Are you an idiot like everybody else?" She said it's not about Pagie or what country they were in, "it's about me."

Naomi said she beat Nikki Bella twice and asked why they needed to have a Divas battle royal. "Do wins and losses mean anything around here?" she asked. Yeah, no kidding. She brought up AJ Lee retiring and people calling her a legend. "Are you kidding me?" she asked. Naomi said people have mistaken her kindness for weakness for way too long...

Cole read a pizza chain sponsored trivia question. Which WWE legend is a cousin to the Hart family? He said the answer would be announced after the break..

[Q11] [C] The answer they gave was Roddy Piper... Dolph Ziggler said Kane was the Devil's Biggest Dumbass if he thinks that laying down is best for business. He said he was taking a page out of John Cena's playbook by issuing an open challenge. Neville's music played...

11. Neville vs. Dolph Ziggler. Cole noted that Neville is from Newcastle, which is roughly three hours away from London. Neville caught a charging Ziggler with a boot in the corner, then followed up with a standing moonsault for a two count. Ziggler came back with a wicked DDT for a two count of his own heading into the break. [C]

After the break, Cole said Ziggler had dominated the action during the break. Neville came right back. With Dolph down at ringside, Neville walked the barricade and then flipped onto him. The announcers went gaga over that one and understandably so. Back in the ring, Ziggler tried to suplex Neville, who landed on his feet. Moments later, Ziggler superkicked Neville for a two count. The crowd chanted "this is awesome."

Neville regained control and looked to the crowd while setting up for the Red Arrow. Dolph rolled out of the way, but Neville landed on his feet. A short time later, Ziggler hit the Zig Zag and scored the pin.

Dolph Ziggler beat Neville in 9:10.

Ziggler was trying to help Neville to his feet afterward when Sheamus hit the ring. Sheamus took out both men and then taunted the crowd. With Neville out of the ring, Sheamus went to work on Ziggler, who quickly took control and threw repeated punches at Sheamus at ringside. Sheamus eventually ran him into the ring post and then Brogue Kicked him. Sheamus stood over Ziggler...

Powell's POV: A good match. It's a rare time when I wish there would have been a cheap finish since Sheamus interfered anyway. I can't tell if they have plans for Neville or if they view him as a guy who can perform flashy offense and wake up a crowd. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before he speaks on WWE television for the first time. Meanwhile, the Sheamus and Ziggler post-match brawl was really good. Sheamus carries himself like a badass and I'm really into his heel run thus far.

[Q12] Cole hyped Big Show appearing on Smackdown and explaining why he attacked Roman Reigns. You know, because we need that explanation from a heel who has been feuding with the babyface he attacked for months... Cole hyped the Extreme Decision segment... A WWE Network spot hyped the new programming and the free month for new subscribers, then that piece of human waste Jared appeared in a Subway commercial... [C]

They hyped a Warrior DVD preview for WWE Network coming up after Raw... Cole hyped the Tough Enough announcement for Raw next week...

Seth Rolilns, Jamie Noble, and Joey Mercury made their entrance. Rollins was walking gingerly while selling the Kane attack. There was a recliner and to additional chairs set up in the ring for the three of them. Rollins sat down and reclined the chair. He told the fans they can boo him all they want, but that doesn't change the fact that he is the future of WWE.

Rollins said he's the greatest champion of all time. He pointed to beating Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the same night, and beating Kane earlier in the show. Rollins said he had a newsflash for anyone who thinks less of Kane. He said a real man knows when to lay down and when to put the king before himself. Rollins invited Orton to join him so that he could give him the Extreme Rules stipulation.

Orton made his entrance to a quiet and likely drained live crowd. Orton entered the ring and Rollins smirked as he remained seated in his recliner. Orton asked if he was comfy. "Quite," Rollins replied. Orton said Seth was overcomplicating things. He said they both get to pick stipulations, but they could clear out the furniture and fight on the spot.

Rollins said simple is boring. He said he likes complicated because it creates opportunities and that's where he thrives. "This is what power looks like," Rollins said. He stood up and looked Orton in the eye while telling him that his stipulation will eliminate Orton's greatest weapon. "At Extreme Rules, the RKO is banned," Rollins said. Rollins sat back down and reclined his chair while saying The Authority always wins.

Orton praised Rollins by saying it was well played. He said he was thinking along the same lines. He questioned what the greatest weapon in Rollins' arsenal is. Orton said it's his connection to The Authority. Orton announced that his stipulation is for he and Rollins to fight inside a steel cage. The camera cut to a closeup of Rollins, who flashed a great look of a man who was trying to show confidence, yet was clearly rattled.

Rollins asked Orton if he thinks that scares him. Rollins said Orton is his first victim. Orton said that since the RKO is banned at Extreme Rules he figured he had to give the people their money's worth now. Orton tipped over Rollins' chair. Rollins eventually hit an RKO on Joey Mercury. Rollins backpedaled up the stage and looked on from the ramp. Orton's music played and he mugged for the crowd while Rollins yelled, "It's my time" from the stage to close the show...

Powell's POV: More greatness from Rollins in the Raw closing segment. He's just excellent in his role. He's the King Joffrey of WWE with a recliner instead of a throne. The crowd was really drained and wasn't all that hot for the final segment, but they were treated to a solid edition of Raw. There were some good in-ring action and I really liked the Kane segments. I will have more to say about Raw in tonight's WWE Raw audio review that will be available exclusively to Dot Net Members, and in Tuesday's WWE Raw Hit List.
