ESPN’s XFL documentary details

vince1ESPN announced that a new “30 For 30” documentary focusing on the XFL – the football league launched by Vince McMahon and NBC back in 2001. The role of Dick Ebersol, who played a huge part in the league via NBC, is also chronicled, as the documentary is directed by his son Charlie Ebersol. The documentary will premiere on February 2 at 8CT/9ET. Read the official press release at ESPNmediazone.com.

Powell’s POV: The first showing of the documentary will take place on Friday at the DOC NYC Film Festival. Believe it or not, the first XFL broadcast drew 14 million viewers for NBC. However, they lost over half their audience in week two. The league lasted only one season.
