Big TNA television partner may end up with the rights to WWE programming

Logo_TNA_dn_600Sony is rumored to be acquiring Ten Network in India. The deal is potentially notable for TNA, as Sony is regarded as a strong and lucrative television partner. However, Ahmedabadmirror.com reports that if the deal goes through then Sony would pick up the rights to WWE programming through Ten Network. [Thanks to Dot Net reader Himanshu Doi]

Powell’s POV: This could potentially affect TNA at some point, as WWE typically has exclusive deals with television partners. TNA and Sony Six announced a long term agreement last year that runs through 2022. If there are no outs in the deal, then obviously TNA’s relationship with Sony Six should good until then at the very least, but it’s hard to say without knowing the specifics of their agreement.
