Logo_NXT_dn_crop600WWE issued the following press release to Prowrestling.net on Monday regarding the Shinsuke Nakamura signing.

WWE® (NYSE: WWE) today announced the signing of international superstar Shinsuke Nakamura to its NXT® division. Nakamura will officially report to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida in late March.

Over the course of his 14-year career, Nakamura has garnered universal popularity for his eclectic personality and electrifying style that combines speed, ferocity and technical skill. That style earned him multiple titles for organizations in his native Japan.

“Talent is the lifeblood of our company, and the signing of Shinsuke Nakamura further demonstrates NXT’s commitment to bringing in the best talent from all over the world,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative. “His explosive style will make an immediate impact to an already dynamic NXT men’s division.”

Nakamura is scheduled to make his in-ring debut against Sami Zayn at NXT TakeOver: Dallas on Friday, April 1 from a sold-out Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Arena during WrestleMania® Week. NXT TakeOver: Dallas will be broadcast live around the world on the award-winning WWE Network at 10 pm ET.

Powell’s POV: The NXT Takeover: Dallas match between Nakamura and Zayn could steal not only the show but the entire weekend. This is a tremendous signing for WWE and I’m anxious to see Nakamura work with several people in NXT.
