WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross updated the blog section of JRsbarbq.com. The following items are among the highlights. To order J.R.’s BBQ products, visit WWEShop.com.

Ross on Monday’s WWE Raw: “Vince McMahon was the star of the broadcast . He’s the WWE’s best heel by far. He loves his role, makes it is own and isn’t playing the role of a villain. I thought it was smart booking that WWE promoted the next Raw main event of which is a WWE title match with McMahon as the special referee. How many times will the Montreal Screw Job be referenced between now and January 4th?”

Powell’s POV: Vince is the top heel in WWE right now and it’s not even close. The return of Triple H will help, but the company desperately needs to get some main event heels over. I have some candidates for the role and I’m curious to see what Will Pruett has to say when he and I discuss this in today’s Dot Net Weekly audio show.

Ross on the Royal Rumble: “If WWE wants the Rumble to be a hit and sell more subscriptions to the WWE Network, then they will book Brock Lesnar in it. No brainer.”

Powell’s POV: They may need Lesnar just to help offset some of the live viewers they will miss out on due to their idiotic decision to run against the NFC Championship game. I just can’t get over that decision. What in the world were they thinking? Granted, they get their $9.99 even if fans don’t watch live, but I’m just stunned that they didn’t stick with their usual approach of running the Royal Rumble during the empty weekend between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl.

Ross on the WWE women’s division: “Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks was a healthy 15 minute match but the overall women’s scene seems flat. No well created personal issues. Sasha cheats to win but that fact is never mentioned by the broadcasters. Why?”

Powell’s POV: “Because it’s TV not radio, you moron, can you not see it?” This is an actual answer that JBL gave a fan on Twitter before blocking him. Ugh. As for the women, it doesn’t help that the fans have yet to connect with Becky Lynch, yet she’s the top babyface by default.
