Welcome to the Dot Net One Shots. Each week, we will present a quick "one shot" thought from each staff member about the previous week in each of the following areas: WWE, TNA and Other (MMA, Indies, etc).

WWE

Will Pruett (Twitter - @itswilltime): Raw was electric on Monday night. It's amazing to think that already this year we have seen two classic Shield vs. Wyatt Family matches, Bray Wyatt vs. Daniel Bryan, Cesaro vs. John Cena, and Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro from the same promotion. The in-ring portion of WWE's product is currently delightful.

Jake Barnett (Twitter - @barnettjake): No CM Punk in Chicago means that an appearance at WrestleMania is all but off the table. I think that's OK, though, as even if he were to come back I don't know where he would fit in. I do hope he's enjoying his time away to decompress.

Zack Zimmerman (Twitter - @InVasionZim): Raw's crowd Monday was apparently the first to attempt by a segment of fans to intelligently coordinate their reactions via social media. I'm not sure if the Allstate arena had no service and that foiled their plot, or if there were a handful of fans who vastly overestimated their influence, or if they just got to building and became too excited to remember the plan. Whatever it was, they showed that fan response is something that occurs naturally in the moment rather than by organized design. Unless of course that design is to chant incessantly for a guy who made it clear he has no interest in being there.

Darren Gutteridge (Twitter - @Dazatheg): Batista IS better at being a heel than a face, but thats really not helping the problem of the Mania WWE WHC match. The problem wasn't the Batista character not clicking, it was Batista's presence itself. All signs point to a third man being added to solve that problem, but until that happens, this feud is going to be lifeless on a scale we have never seen the likes of before.

Chris Shore (Twitter - @TheShoreSlant): Monday night proved that Vince McMahon and company are some of the smartest, and laziest, people in business. They ignore that vocal IWC/smark/rabid fan group all the time because they can. That group buys everything they sell anyway (thus the laziness). On the other hand, when that group manages to reach a critical mass where they can mess it up for all the other fans, WWE delivers excellent programming. I don't know if hijacking Raw every week is feasible, but I would like to see something keep the pressure on WWE if Monday's Raw is the end result.

TNA

Will Pruett: What was the point of already having The Wolves win and then lose the TNA Tag Team Championship? Their first win should have been a major moment coming after a long struggle. Instead, it was at a house show with few people there. Their first loss should have come after a dominant run, not after a week. This is odd booking.

Jake Barnett: Lockdown feels like another show without a proper build. I thought one of the side effects of reduced PPV dates would be more time to properly sell these shows. So far, I am eating plates of crow.

Chris Shore: Lockdown is Sunday and nothing feels special about it. TNA isn't the only company that fails to understand that gimmick matches alone do not lead to more viewers, but with only four PPVs a year, they don't need to waste one of them on a gimmicked PPV where half the matches don't need a cage match.

Other (MMA, Indies, Etc)

Will Pruett (WWE Network): I've lost a whole lot of time in the last week to the WWE Network. It turns out we're best friends. Access to every pay-per-view ever is kind of overwhelming. WWE has some improvements they can make to it, but the Network is pretty amazing already.

Jake Barnett (Randy Orton):I'm really struggling to figure out where WWE can go with his character to keep the main event at WrestleMania interesting. Heel vs. Heel matches can work, but Orton has been so damaged by his association with the authority, that I don't think many people take him seriously at this point. It doesn't help that he and Batista seem more interested at taking shots at Daniel Bryan, either.

Zack Zimmerman (WWE Network): I was overjoyed when WWE announce that the Network was finally available for the Xbox 360. Naturally, I couldn't wait to dive in. I quickly realized however, that I had dove head-first into the shallow end. The Xbox version featured a primitive layout, no search feature, dead links, no catalogs by year, no WCW or ECW PPVs, and none of the personal queue or place-memorization aspects that make Netflix so functional and convenient. The idea of the Network is incredible; the initial impression is not. Time for them to get some updates out there and get past these week-one flaws in quick order. Make my $9.99/month worth it please.

Darren Gutteridge (NXT): I know a few guys have fantasy booked Cesaro vs Zayn for Mania, but why not do it this year? Seriously, call up Zayn to Raw and SD, and build it the exact same way they did on NXT. A new star is born, Zayn gets the win the storyline demands, NXT gets a HUGE shot of momentum, and we get a great match. I dare you to pick a hole in that plan.

Chris Shore (WWE Network): I have to admit I'm a little surprised by how mild the reaction is for the WWE Network. There has certainly been some buzz, and I do think it is an overall plus for the WWE, but i expected some sort of giant response from the crowd base, either good or bad. Instead, people have voiced their issues, but otherwise people have quietly watched the programming and been content with it. Color me surprised.
