Shore's WWE Money in the Bank preview and predictions: John Cena vs. Mark Henry for the WWE Championship, Alberto Del Rio vs. Dolph Ziggler for the World Hvt. Championship, two Money in the Bank ladder matches

By Chris Shore

The following predictions are made with no prior knowledge of the planned finishes. They are based on what I see on WWE television each week and where I think those storylines are headed.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Randy Orton vs. Christian vs. Sheamus in the WWE Championship Money in the Bank match. Of course before we even get into who wins the match, we have to decide if this is even the match we're getting. Kane has been removed from the match, so there is the potential to add someone to replace him. Conventional wrestling wisdom puts Bray Wyatt in that spot, but I don't think we see that here--it's also a bad idea; too soon. Big Show is the other big name, but I tend to think they just go with the match without replacing Kane.

Jason Powell and I spent a great deal of time breaking this match down on Member's exclusive Dot Net Weekly this week, so I won't rehash it all here, but I am staying with my initial pick of Daniel Bryan. Randy Orton is my outside choice, but even that feels like a vehicle to put the title on Bryan without having him go over John Cena. Regardless of which one of these guys wins, I expect them to feud again coming out of the PPV.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins the MITB contract.

John Cena vs. Mark Henry for the WWE Championship: Even though the build for this match has been better than Cena vs. Ryback, when John Cena has the title, it seems to make his act worse. Henry has done all the heavy lifting, and Cena has been (mostly) good, yet I'm still not as excited about this match as I should be because I never see them moving the title off Cena.

Obviously he has lost it many times, but I'm more willing to accept the possibility of a Cena loss when he doesn't have the title. When he has it, I just can't suspend disbelief enough. He has had matches that have won me over, and I am hopeful that it happens here, but I am more hopeful John Cena finds himself away from the title picture sooner, rather than later. I'm hopeful, but not expectant.

Prediction: John Cena retains the WWE Championship.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship: This match should be about 1000 times hotter than it is, but WWE has completely dropped the ball with Ziggler's character. Del Rio has been a very good heel champion. Ziggler was the perfect sympathetic babyface, until they screwed it up. Now, I'm not sure what he is. I kind of want to cheer him, but not all the time. He's still a smug prick. He's still "showing off" like a heel. Oh no! He's Miz! In all seriousness, this one is hard to predict because it doesn't make sense to move the title back to Ziggler, but nothing they have done with Ziggler makes sense. I think Del Rio wins, but anything is possible.

Prediction: Alberto Del Rio retains the WWE Championship.

Chris Jericho vs. Ryback: The wussification of Ryback has continued for weeks now and I am as confused by it now as I was when it started. It was bad enough that he was whining, but now they have him using it as a way to worm into a victory. Whatever his other skillset, Ryback is where he is for one reason: he's big. Really, really, big. When you take that away from him, he loses all his heat, which is an accurate description of where he is right now. Enter an (exiting) Chris Jericho and WWE has the ability to make it all right by having Ryback send Jericho off to his music tour. I hope for Ryback's sake they do the right thing, if not tonight, then tomorrow on Raw.

Prediction: Ryback kills Chris Jericho.

Curtis Axel vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship: I wasn't sure if I could care less about this match, but Axel's meltdown after his loss on Smackdown has piqued my interest ever so slightly. The kid hasn't gotten over yet, even with the great Paul Heyman as his mouthpiece, because he's bland. Managers can help get a guy over, but they can't do it all. Axel needs to find his character, and I'm hoping that's what this match does. I hope they do it without putting the title on Miz, though. Axel may need to find his character, but Miz needs to forget his. He's bad right now.

Prediction: Curtis Axel retains the Intercontinental Championship.

A.J. Lee vs. Kaitlyn for the Divas Championship: While I disagree with A.J.'s Smackdown proclamation that "nobody cared about the Divas" until she" won the title"--I say it was when the feud between she and Kaitlyn began--I may be arguing a distinction without a difference. I am infinitely more interested in the Divas now than I have been in quite some time, and I hope they go one more month on this feud. The contract signing was very entertaining, even if it did devolve into the standard brawl that all of those signings do, and I think they have good chemistry together. I'm not sure how they get back to it again next month if A.J. wins, which I expect, but I have enjoyed this feud immensely.

A.J. Lee retains the Divas Championship.

Wade Barrett vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Fandango vs. Jack Swagger vs. Antonio Cesaro in the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank match. This match is in real trouble. I didn't think so before watching Smackdown on Friday, but after seeing everyone not named Ambrose in a clusterfark on TV, I realized that the "all heel" makeup of this match has it more hamstrung than I originally thought. I still think this match has the potential to steal the show, if allowed to try, and while I have no good idea about who wins, I'm not nearly as excited about that possibility as I am with the Raw version because so many of these guys have been misused. I pick Wade Barrett because I think WWE is the highest on him of this group, but this is a pick 'em match for sure.

Prediction: Wade Barrett wins the MITB contract.

The Shield vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championships. The streak of babyfaces winning the pre-show match ends here. That's about all you can say about this match except that the Shield are in an unsettling holding pattern that WWE tag champions almost always seem to settle into. I hope it's just a one month lag. They could lose their heat quickly if they aren't careful

Prediction: The Shield retain the tag titles.
