Shore's Weekend Promo: Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston produce a "Wow" moment, The Rock is coming back to wrestle, A fake Iron Sheik tweet, and TNA better get their act together soon Mar 26, 2011 - 02:09 PM
In the spirit of my beloved WCW Saturday Night, welcome to the Shore Weekend Promo. Every week I will mention, the good, the bad, the ugly, and whatever else I want to talk about across all of wrestling.
Opening Series(My overall thoughts on the week):
Only one week to go until WrestleMania 27 and things are already heating up for that weekend. We have a ton of stuff planned for you over the next 10 days so be on the lookout. And if you're not a member, now is the time to sign up over at the Members Signup Page. Shameless plugs out of the way. Here. We. Go!
Pops(The best of the week):
-Week after week, Michael Cole continues to entertain the hell out of me. Part of me hates myself for saying that because as a rule, I don't like having ancillary characters like the announcers involved in storylines, especially when the storyline revolves around the ancillary character(s). But seeing as how this allows Jerry Lawler to get his much deserved WrestleMania moment, I was willing to put aside my objections and let it run. And boy am I happy I did. Michael Cole is the best character on WWE TV right now, barely edging out Vickie Guerrero. Don't believe me? Let me ask you this: When was the last time you cared about Jack Swagger this much? (Note: This was written before Cole decided to cram his foot into his mouth on Twitter)
-This may be the first time I've ever put a Superstars match in this spot, but I really enjoyed Daniel Bryan and Gail Kim vs. Tyson Kidd and Melina. The guys did great work, which was of no real surprise. But I was pleasantly surprised at how good Kim and Melina were together. The cross body from the top to the floor was fantastic, and Kim really knew how to use Melina's flexibility in their spots. I hope Vince was watching because that's how you have a mixed tag match.
-When news broke this week that Rock was willing to do another match, my first response was, "Duh. We've known that for some time now." But the truth is we didn't really know. We had plenty of circumstantial evidence to support that theory, but there was no solid proof. Now that we know he's going to step in the ring again, I have to say, I'm pretty excited. John Cena and others have achieved great success and drawn good money and heat, but it has been a long time since a guy like the Rock has worked in the business. As a fan, this was the best news of the week.
Heat(The worst of the week):
-As is often the case, I could spend this entire section lobbing bombs at TNA. And there are a lot of things that deserve it this week. But one stands out and must be addressed. Kurt Angle was arrested early Friday morning for being drunk in his car. He wasn't charged with DUI, but only because the police didn't actually see him driving. No amount of protesting and finger pointing from Angle will change these facts: He failed a field sobriety test wand was arrested and taken to jail.
TNA is playing with fire, and if this doesn't wake them up to the dangers of not policing their talent then the only thing that will is a death. And then it's too late. The scariest part is that if we know about Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle, how many wrestlers do we not know about? We read about very few big stars dying because they are usually the ones the companies care so much about that they force them to get clean. And yet in TNA, it is their biggest of stars that are publicly intoxicated, both in the ring and on the road.
TNA, and specifically Dixie Carter, had better bring the hammer down and with no small amount of ferociousness. There have been too many deaths, too many careers derailed, too many fatherless children for this to continue under their watch. If not, then when something bad happens, and all the evidence says it will, then TNA gets exactly what they deserve from wrestling journalist, main stream media, and their fans.
Tweet This(Best Tweets from "The Boys"):
Dolph Ziggler: Spring cleaning (my little black book alone, will take most of the day) Hope the hustler store has an exchange program ;)
CM Punk: No stupid coats. No pyro. No dancers. No bells, no whistles. Never needed it. I am a wrestler.
Colt Cabana: DYK: Koko B Ware's 1987 hit song "Piledriver" was based off a sexual position taught to him by Don Muraco
Goldust: Too many kids on here in need of their mommy to spank them
Obligatory Iron Sheik Tweet: Sheiky Baby didn't tweet anything at all this week so instead I will give you my Sheiky tweet while watching Impact Thursday night: "F--- the Hernandez. I first and best bad guy from other country. I see him I f--- his ass, make him humble."

Go Home(The Big Finish, Whatever I Want):
If you saw Smackdown last night, then you saw one of the coolest finishes I have seen in a long time in the Kofi Kingston vs. Wade Barrett match. If you didn't see it, here it is. I recommend seeing the whole match, but if you don't have the time, then check this out. [Direct Link]
