UFC fighter headed to pro wrestling? Dana White believes the fighter took steroids to prepare for the jump
Nov 21, 2012 - 09:10 AM |
UFC president Dana White believes Stephan Bonner failed a steroid test after his last fight because he is preparing for a pro wrestling career. "He wasn’t planning on fighting," White said told MMA Weekly. "He said that he was practicing to maybe do some pro wrestling and whatever the excuse is. I’ve known Stephan for a long time. We have a great relationship. Tell me." Read more on the story at MMAWeekly.com.
Powell's POV: Bonnar was suspended for one year following his first-round knockout loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 153. Bonnar took the fight on short notice. The suspension is moot because it was his retirement fight. It was the second time Bonnar failed a test. There's no word on whether Bonnar has had discussions with WWE or TNA or if he's going to be wrestling in Japan. At this point, it would be a public relations issue for any company that uses him based on White alleging that he was using steroids to prepare for pro wrestling.
