Brock Lesnar was paid $400,000 for his UFC 121 loss to Cain Velasquez, according to MMAFighting.com. Velasquez earned $100,000 in base salary, and received a $100,000 bonus for winning the fight.
Tito Ortiz was paid $250,000 for his loss, and Jake Shields $150,000 for his unimpressive performance against Martin Kampmann, who earned just $27,000. For a full breakdown of what the fighters were paid, visit MMAFighting.com.
Powell's POV: The Minneapolis Star Tribune noted over the weekend that Lesnar is one of the few fighters who receives a percentage of the pay-per-view sales, so he will earn additional income for the fight.
