WWE News: Shane McMahon dodges $20 million scam
Feb 14, 2014 - 09:37 AM |
Shane McMahon was targeted by convicted stock swindler Calvin Darden Jr. for the tune of $20 million. Darden was arrested on Wednesday and is accused of duping investors into think that his wealthy father was buying Maxim magazine. The story states that Shane's company YOU on Demand did not return phone calls, but that "talks with Darden had apparently gone nowhere." Read the story at NYPost.com/2014/02/13/maxim-owners-grow-desperate-as-latest-deal-collapses/.
Powell's POV: The most shocking part of this story is that the owners of Maxim are trying to sell the magazine because it's "troubled." Apparently, a magazine built on showcasing nearly naked women isn't thriving in a world where there are a billion websites that showcase completely naked women.
