WWE has announced that it is offering VIP Experience packages for live events. The packages offer meet and greets with WWE wrestlers, photos with the WWE Championship, and exclusive merchandise. The first VIP Experience packages will be available on March 15 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, March 16 in Providence, R.I., and on March 17 in Binghamton, N.Y.
The $599 Superstar Package lists: one ringside seat, a meet and greet, one photo with the WWE Championship, an exclusive limited edition chair, one exclusive snap back cap, a limited edition event poster, a commemorative VIP ticket holder, venue parking (where applicable), crowd free merchandise shopping area, and an on-site VIP concierge.
The $249 Enhanced VIP Package lists: one center ring lower bowl seat, a snap back cap, a limited edition event poster, a VIP ticket holder, venue parking where available, crowd free merchandise shopping, and on-site VIP concierge. Learn more about both packages at WWE.com.
Powell's POV: $599 for the Superstar Package? For that price, a date with two Divas better be included. TNA has been doing this at a much more affordable rate at their live events for a long time. Before anyone starts crying that WWE is ripping off TNA, it's worth noting that this approach has become popular in various forms of touring entertainment, most notably concert events. It's going to price out most fans, but it's an easy way to generate extra revenue and I'm surprised it's taken WWE this long to get onboard. If you buy a VIP Package, you are encouraged to send a report on the experience to dotnetjason@gmail.com.
