WWE News: Smackdown move to Syfy confirmed, launch date revealed, NXT leaving the network
Apr 13, 2010 - 09:24 AM |
WWE issues a press release on Tuesday to confirm the news that Smackdown will be moving to the Syfy network on Oct. 1. In related news, the NXT program will leave the network in October once Smackdown debuts. You can read the full press release at WWE.com.
Powell's POV: Smackdown will debut on a Friday and is referred to as "Friday Night Smackdown" in the press release, so it looks like the show won't be changing nights. In fact, Syfy is moving its Friday night block of dramas to Tuesday nights to accommodate Smackdown. No official word yet on whether NXT is moving to a new network home or whether it will simply be cancelled.
