Dot Net TNA News: Jeff Hardy contract expiring in February, what his next move is expected to be
Oct 2, 2012 - 03:23 PM |
TNA star Jeff Hardy's contract with the company expires in February. There have been rumors of Hardy having another run with WWE or even working the independent scene with his brother Matt Hardy and creating his own schedule. However, as reported in Thursday's Dot Net Weekly audio show, a source with knowledge of the situation stated that Hardy's first preference is to re-sign with TNA, assuming they can come to terms.
Powell's POV: Of course, nothing is official until Hardy puts pen to paper. WWE could make a stronger financial offer than TNA, but I get the impression that a return to the grind of WWE isn't something Hardy is looking for. WWE could offer Hardy a lighter schedule, but I would be surprised if TNA lets it reach the point where WWE can legally negotiate with their top merchandise seller. As for the indy scene, I know of one promotion that was planning to use Jeff and Matt Hardy as a team in February, but those plans were recently called off or at least put on hold.
