TNA Impact rating: The show improves from last week's high number for the live special
Oct 15, 2010 - 06:45 PM |
Thursday's TNA Impact drew a 1.4 rating with 1.895 million viewers. The show was up from the 1.3 rating that the live special drew.
Powell's POV: Was the increase due to JWoww hype? How about the Jeff Hardy heel turn? Interest in Bound For Glory? Perhaps because of the "They" reveal to viewers who didn't see the pay-per-view? My guess is a combination of those factors.
I don't think it's safe to proclaim that the talk-heavy format was the cause for the success, nor can it be said that it was a detriment. It's not something this viewer wants to see on a regular basis, and I hope they don't see this show as evidence that a talk-heavy show is the way to go on a regular basis. In general, TNA and Spike should be pleased with what is clearly good ratings news, as this was the best viewership totals they've garnered since January.
