-Dot Net Members will be listening to part one of the Dot Net Weekly audio show later today. Jason Powell and I will discuss all the news of the week and preview the Royal Rumble PPV. -Current ROH on-air personality Nigel McGuiness (a/k/a Steven Haworth) turns 38 today. After much rumor and speculation, McGuiness revealed in his 2012 documentary that WWE passed on him because they felt his biceps needed surgery, and lost his spot in TNA after contracting hepatitis B. Nigel still serves as the matchmaker in ROH.
-Former WWWF Tag Team Champion Dominic DeNucci turns 81 today. DeNucci helped train former WWE star Mick Foley and former ECW star Shane Douglas after a career that saw him win the tag titles with the original Dino Bravo.
-Former TNA developmental star Alex Silva (a/k/a Alexandre Freitas) turns 24 today. Silva was the first winner of TNA Gut Check and, like every winner except Lei'D Tapa and Sam Shaw, is no longer with the company.
-Former WWE Women's Champion Leilani Kai (a/k/a Patty Seymour) turns 54 today. Kai lost the title at the first WrestleMania event and went on to hold the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships with Judy Martin as The Glamour Girls.
-The late wrestling legend Giant Baba (a/k/a Shohei Baba) would have turned 75 today. Baba was one of the greatest Japanese stars of all time and held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times. He died on January 31, 1999 from cancer.
-ESPN Classic has five hours of Global Supercard Wrestling today. The first two hours are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CT. and the other three hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. CT. There are no match listings for any of the shows.
