WWE News: Kenta contract signing announced, Triple H and Kenta comment
WWE held a contract signing ceremony with Japanese star Kenta at the live event in Osaka, Japan on Saturday. Hulk Hogan presided over the signing. Kenta noted in a statement issued by WWE that he will report to the WWE Performance Center. "I am humbled to join WWE's NXT division and look forward to honing my craft with the global leader in sports-entertainment," he said.
Paul Levesque (a/k/a Triple H) is also quoted in a statement issued by WWE. "Kenta is an incredible performer who brings the crowd to its feet when he steps into the ring. WWE's signing of Kenta reflects our continued dedication to creating a diverse roster that appeals to our global fan base."
Powell's POV: Kenta signing with WWE has been known for several weeks. I'm sure there will be some grumbling from Kenta fans about him going to developmental. I don't see it as a negative, as it will help him make the transition to the style the company wants him to work in the ring as well as help him get accustomed to life in the United States. It's a great signing for WWE.
