Gutteridge's WWE NXT Hit List: A squash match heavy show only produces one Hit, with Tyson Kidd, Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze facing off for an NXT Title Shot

WWE NXT Hits
Tyson Kidd vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze: By far and a way the best thing on this show. In fact, it's the only thing worth seeing. The UK version of this match had a chunk edited out, but even then the match was very exciting. Speed, crisp technicals and a nicely done finish (in that it told multiple stories with just one pinfall) were expected, and the match delivered all three.
WWE NXT Misses
Overall Show: The worst NXT I can remember in a long while. Everything outside of the main event was uninspired, to the point that I presume, were I not obliged to watch the whole show, I would have just fast forwarded to the main event. Watch the triple threat, and use the 40 minutes you save doing something productive.
The Ascension vs. Buddy Murphy and Elias Sampson: Just when you thought The Ascension couldn't get any worse, they hand them microphones. Good Lord the humanity! I'm always saddened when Konnor grabs a mic and says anything other than his NXT Season 3 catchphrase of "Cheeeeeseeee". I'm not excited for their match with Kalisto and El Local because it's not scientifically, chemically, biologically, physically, mentally, figuratively, metaphorically OR spiritually possible for me to get excited for the worst act in WWE.
Mojo Rawley vs. Aiden English: A fairly paint-by-numbers Rawley match. You would think they'd have put English over here, as he can carry an extended feud with Rawley (which he needs to further his development), but nope, Rawley killed him in 3 minutes, and got straight back to running towards his next squash match.
Colin Cassady vs. Angelo Dawkins: At this point, I had reached my squash match upper limit, so Cassady could have pulled off a 630 splash and I'd still have given this match a miss. The feud between himself and CJ Parker could have comedy legs, though.
Alexa Bliss vs. Charlotte: Who ever booked this match to go as long as it did – you done goofed. The same goes for whoever laid out the brackets. Putting these two inexperienced Divas in against each other is not only stupid from an in-ring quality perspective, but has the potential to be a dangerous environment with both ladies still learning the ropes. Having said that, the match wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, turning out more awkward than terrible.
